As the world pauses for Earth Hour, The Westin Resort & Spa Ubud, Bali, invites guests to experience the moment through a unique celebration that brings together nature, art, and cultural storytelling.
On March 28, 2026 at 8:30 PM, the resort will present “Angob Gumi” at the tranquil Tall Trees Garden. Held during the symbolic lights-off moment of Earth Hour, the evening transforms the garden into a captivating stage where art and nature meet under the night sky.
Inspired by the Balinese phrase Angob Gumi, the performance reflects the feeling of “a moment when awe embraces the light of nature.” Through storytelling, movement, music, and symbolic gestures, the performance invites audiences to pause, reflect, and rediscover a sense of wonder toward the Earth.
As the resort switches off its lights in support of the global Earth Hour movement, the garden will come alive through glow-in-the-dark elements, where wayang storytelling, singers, and dancers create an immersive artistic experience inspired by the beauty of the natural world.
The performance is created in collaboration with Kerta Art, a Balinese sanggar based in Ubud, highlighting local artistic talent while celebrating the island’s rich cultural heritage.
More than a celebration of Earth Hour, this initiative reflects The Westin Resort & Spa Ubud, Bali’s ongoing commitment to sustainability in thoughtful and meaningful ways. By collaborating with local artists and cultural communities, the resort continues to support Balinese heritage while encouraging guests to reconnect with nature.
