ARTOTEL Sanur Bali is once again collaborating with three female artists from Bali to present an art exhibition titled “What’s for Dinner?”. The exhibition features various artworks by three artists: Dyah Ayu Wulandari, Mira El Amir, and Sandat Wangi. It will be held at ARTSPACE from June 8 to August 8, 2026.
“What’s for Dinner?”—this art exhibition emerges amidst intensifying discussions about women and gender issues. These three female artists present reflections rooted in their most intimate daily experiences. This perspective is also reflected in their collaborative work titled Saling Sulang, which celebrates the opportunity to support, strengthen, and nourish one another through togetherness.

Through the diverse artistic expressions they present, the three artists position the theme “What’s for Dinner?” as part of the journey of becoming an adult. Each artist offers a distinct perspective on the meaning of food and the process of preparing it in daily life.
For Sandat Wangi, food is a source of nutrition that enables all the body’s organs to function properly, allowing people to go about their lives, achieve their goals, and prepare themselves for life’s various journeys.
Meanwhile, Dyah Ayu Wulandari views the process of preparing dinner as a space for reflection and self-dialogue. In this process, she ponders how to manage, blend, and prepare dishes so they can be enjoyed as intended. The act of cooking reflects the process of decision-making, managing expectations, and striving to bring out the best in oneself and others.

Unlike the other two, Mira El Amir sees serving food as the lifeblood of family life. Food serves not only as a basic necessity but also as a medium that maintains connection, nurtures warmth, and strengthens bonds among family members in daily life. Through these diverse perspectives, the three artists invite the audience to view food not merely as a form of consumption but as a symbol of life, care, and relationships that continue to grow within the daily human experience.
For them, the act of preparing and serving food is not merely a domestic chore, but a meaningful form of self-expression. It serves as a space for personal reflection, as well as a reminder of the importance of the strength, support, and care that grow through interpersonal relationships. In this context, food and the process of serving it become a metaphor for the practice of care—both for oneself and others—as well as a form of solidarity that is continuously nurtured in daily life.
Agus Ade Surya Wirawan, General Manager of ARTOTEL Sanur - Bali, stated, “ARTOTEL Sanur Bali is proud to collaborate with a group of female artists from Bali. The combination of these works creates harmony from existing differences, making them beautiful and enjoyable for hotel guests, non-hotel guests, and all art enthusiasts.”
The “What’s for Dinner?” art exhibition is open to the public and runs from June 8 to August 8, 2026.
