The Melasti Ritual, where locals in traditional attire parade to sea temples to purify sacred objects and gather holy water, is a breathtaking sight. On the evening before Nyepi, the Pengrupukan ceremony fills the air with the clamour of pots, pans, and bamboo tubes as Hindu villagers create and parade Ogoh-ogoh demonic statues representing negative spirits hrough the streets in a ritual known as Tawur Kesanga.
