The Melasti Ritual, where locals in traditional attire parade to sea temples to purify sacred objects and gather holy water, is a breathtaking sight. On the evening before Nyepi, the Pengrupukan ceremony fills the air with the clamour of pots, pans, and bamboo tubes as Hindu villagers create and parade Ogoh-ogoh demonic statues representing negative spirits hrough the streets in a ritual known as Tawur Kesanga. On Nyepi itself, the island embraces complete stillness, with travel, work, and entertainment forbidden, and even the airport closed, as Bali honors the earth and its sacred rhythm.
