Oliverra at Umana Bali Unveils The Life of the Tree

Oliverra, the signature clifftop restaurant and bar at Umana Bali, LXR Hotels & Resorts, introduces The Life of the Tree, a new cocktail book that transforms the bar experience into a thoughtful progression of taste, storytelling, and Balinese philosophy.

Rooted in Tri Hita Karana, the Balinese philosophy of harmony between the divine, people, and nature, the collection follows the symbolic stages of a tree, from seed and roots to trunk, branches, leaves, flowers, fruit, fallen leaves, and new beginnings. Each cocktail is designed as a reflection of life’s natural rhythm, capturing ideas of growth, balance, renewal, wisdom, and shared experience through ingredients, technique, and presentation.

At Oliverra, where Mediterranean dining meets the dramatic landscape of Ungasan’s limestone cliffs, The Life of the Tree extends the restaurant’s storytelling beyond the plate. The book brings together layered spirits, house-made syrups, botanical infusions, tropical fruits, local aromatics, and refined bar techniques to create cocktails that feel expressive yet grounded. Each drink is crafted not only for the palate, but also for the moment it is meant to accompany, from golden-hour conversations to late-evening reflection.

The collection includes:
•    Namirasa – Awakening the Senses
Inspired by the seed, Namirasa represents the first emotional connection between the soul and nature. Crafted with toasted white sesame seed-infused Nusa Caña Tropical Island Rum, Nusa Caña Coconut Rum, lychee brine, pandan syrup, fresh citrus, and house-made coconut foam, it offers a tropical, creamy, and inviting first sip.
 

•    Genitri – Rooted in Connection
A tribute to nurturing energy and the source of life, Genitri brings together Four Pillars Yuzu Gin, Galliano L’Autentico, DOM Bénédictine, house-made herbarium liqueur, mimosa roots, lemongrass, citrus, and soda water. It is designed for grounded conversations and golden-hour aperitifs.

•    Lohjina – Reaching Out
Symbolizing strength through wisdom, Lohjina captures the enduring spirit of the branches. Rye whisky, Ancho Reyes Verde Chile Poblano Liqueur, jalapeño, olive brine, fresh citrus, and house-made kayumanis and oregano syrup create a bold yet balanced drink for light-hearted conversations.

•    Amertaning – Finding Renewal
Derived from the idea of holy water and divine elixir, Amertaning represents purification, balance, and renewal. Nikka Coffey Gin, clarified cucumber extract, basil and mint cordial, citric solution, and house-made basil oil come together in a refreshing cocktail designed to restore clarity.

•    Padmasari – Beauty in Bloom
Inspired by the lotus, Padmasari reflects purity, grace, and beauty born through balance. Grey Goose Vodka, Aperol, Limo Aperitivo, house-made rose syrup, fresh citrus, and rose mist create a floral and celebratory cocktail for special occasions.
 

•    Niscaya – Defined by Purpose
Reflecting certainty, conviction, and clarity, Niscaya is inspired by the trunk of the tree. Made with Nikka Days Japanese Whisky, sweet vermouth, house-made rock candy syrup, fresh citrus, and Mesui wood aromatic bitters, it delivers rich, woody complexity for slow reflection.

•    Wiweka – The Joy of Sharing
A tribute to wisdom, discernment, and inner understanding, Wiweka is inspired by the fruit of the tree. Código 1530 Blanco Tequila, house-made botanical liqueur, tropical fruit blend, butterfly pea extract, and citric solution create a vibrant cocktail made for sharing.

•    Kamandalu – The Art of Letting Go
Inspired by the sacred water vessel carried by sages and deities in Hindu tradition, Kamandalu reflects purity, simplicity, and spiritual nourishment. Grey Goose Vodka, house-made banana pandan syrup, dry vermouth, botanical aromatic bitters, citric solution, and La Gioiosa Prosecco DOC create a bright and unexpected expression.

•    Walmiki – A Legacy Remembered
Inspired by Sage Valmiki, the revered author of the Ramayana, Walmiki symbolizes transformation and the journey from darkness to enlightenment. Nikka From The Barrel Japanese Whisky, red wine reduction, fresh citrus, rock candy, and clove and citrus aromatic bitters create a memorable finale to linger over.
