COMO Hotels and Resorts Announces the Reopening of COMO Metropolitan Bangkok
As part of COMO’s enduring commitment to modern urban living, the hotel’s design — including all 137 rooms and suites — has been entirely reimagined by acclaimed Italian designer Paola Navone. This marks Navone’s second collaboration with COMO Hotels and Resorts in Thailand, following her celebrated work at COMO Point Yamu in Phuket, creating a compelling design dialogue between city and island.
Navone’s signature lies in her ability to create a modern sense of place without resorting to cultural imitation. Through a thoughtful blend of local materials such as wood, ceramic, and stone, she introduces playful yet refined touches — from oversized woven seat-backs to subtle infusions of Buddhist orange. The interiors celebrate texture and light: marble surfaces, textured stone, and bamboo screens interact to form an environment that is both luxurious and quietly meditative. The lobby counter, inspired by Thai masonry and temple reliefs, exemplifies this dialogue between heritage and contemporary design.
“With our urban properties, I’ve always wanted to create hotels with spirit — dynamic and design-forward,” said Christina Ong, founder of COMO Hotels and Resorts, who opened the first Metropolitan hotel in London in 1997. “But they must also be elegant and exceptionally comfortable — places where guests can retreat from the city to enjoy a pared-back, almost meditative simplicity.”

This philosophy — balancing lively city energy with serene escapism — defines the new COMO Metropolitan Bangkok experience, extending across its dining and wellness offerings.
On the ground floor, the renowned nahm restaurant, led by Chef Pim Techamuanvivit, continues its legacy with an eighth consecutive one-Michelin star in the 2025 Michelin Guide. Known for its masterful reinterpretation of regional Thai cuisine, nahm remains a must-visit destination where diners can explore the intricate contrasts of Thailand’s sweet, salty, hot, and sour flavours.
For a more casual and comforting experience, the hotel introduces COMO Cuisine, making its Thai debut on the second floor. Conceptualised by Daniel Moran, COMO’s Culinary Vice President, and Amanda Gale, COMO Group Executive Chef, the restaurant presents a versatile all-day menu featuring salads, soups, meats, fish, sharing plates, and children’s favourites. It also showcases COMO Shambhala Kitchen dishes — nourishing creations designed around whole foods, low in sugar and salt, and free of artificial additives. Guests can also enjoy revitalising juices crafted in collaboration with COMO’s nutrition experts, designed to nourish body and mind.
Guests seeking balance and rejuvenation will find sanctuary at COMO Shambhala Urban Escape, the hotel’s iconic wellness centre. The facility includes 10 treatment rooms, a yoga studio, a hydro pool, and a fully equipped gym, complemented by an inviting 25-metre outdoor pool that reflects Bangkok’s tropical light.

Beyond its serene interiors, COMO Metropolitan Bangkok connects guests to the cultural pulse of the city through its new Iconic Experiences program. Highlights include a private shopping experience curated by Club 21, featuring Bangkok’s most exclusive designer boutiques, and a journey to Monsoon Valley Siam Winery, where guests can discover Thailand’s emerging viticulture and explore bespoke wine pairings featured at nahm.
The reopening marks an important milestone in COMO’s ongoing evolution. “We now have five urban hotels — two in London, and one each in Perth, Singapore, and Bangkok,” said Olivier Jolivet, CEO of COMO Hotels and Resorts. “They all share a careful balance of public style and private calm, embodying the essence of COMO’s contemporary luxury.”
With its reimagined design, acclaimed dining, and holistic wellness, COMO Metropolitan Bangkok stands renewed — a tranquil sanctuary in the city that never slows down, where modern travellers can discover both vitality and stillness in perfect harmony.
