Lacoste, the iconic French fashion brand founded in 1933 by tennis legend René Lacoste and André Gillier, is celebrating the holy month of Ramadan through a creative partnership with renowned Indonesian illustrator, Ykha Amelz. This also marks the first time Lacoste collaborates with a local artist in Indonesia. Lacoste introduces a special Ramadan store concept designed by Ykha in several of its stores across Indonesia. Customers can enjoy a shopping experience immersed in Ykha's illustrated designs showcasing the joy of Ramadan and Lacoste's iconic crocodile emblem.
The opening event will take place on March 14 at Lacoste Pondok Indah Mall 2 store and will be attended by Ykha and media friends, concluding with an iftar gathering at Toby's Estate. Lacoste infuses the spirit of togetherness and warmth of Ramadan into its artistic collaboration with Ykha. With Ykha's artistic vision, Lacoste believes that Ykha can accurately convey the essence of the holy month with fun, positive designs, representing the unique Ramadan culture of Indonesia.
In Jakarta, Ykha's illustrations can be found at the Pondok Indah Mall 2 branch starting March 14, 2024. Simultaneously, from March 19, 2024, Ykha's illustrations will be displayed at Lacoste stores in Jakarta at Grand Indonesia, Kota Kasablanka, Senayan City, Plaza Senayan, as well as outside Jakarta at Tunjungan Plaza Surabaya, Paris Van Java Bandung, Pakuwon Mall Yogyakarta, Delipark Mall Medan, and Trans Studio Mall Makassar. These collaborative illustrations will be featured in all these stores until April 14.
This special collaboration is inspired by the increasing global recognition of Indonesian illustrators, with Ykha Amelz being one of them. Previously, Lacoste successfully collaborated with RexChouk, an illustrator from Saudi Arabia, for a Ramadan campaign in the Middle East in 2023. This year, Lacoste partners with a local Indonesian illustrator aiming to inspire, foster closeness, and celebrate the diversity of Ramadan traditions worldwide.
