Newly opened at Pullman Ciawi Vimala Hills, Jade River Chinese Restaurant arrives as Bogor’s first premium Chinese dining destination—bringing classic flavours into a sleek, contemporary space set against sweeping highland views. Rooted in Chinese culinary heritage yet styled for modern tastes, Jade River balances tradition with quiet elegance, making it a natural choice for leisurely family gatherings, celebratory meals, and refined dining moments away from the city buzz.
Jade River Brings Refined Chinese Dining to Bogor’s Highlands
At Jade River, authentic Chinese flavours take centre stage—thoughtfully prepared without pork or lard—served in a setting designed for lingering meals and easy conversation. Conceived as a place where families naturally come together, the restaurant pairs refined cooking with a calming sense of place. Interiors are layered in jade greens and river-inspired textures, opening out to views of Mount Salak and the surrounding highlands, with the gentle soundtrack of rustling leaves and flowing water completing the experience.

An intimate VIP room seats up to six for private celebrations or low-key business diners, while the breezy semi-alfresco Teras hosts up to 36 guests for relaxed daytime or evening dining. Inside, the main Dining Hall blends elegant wooden details with a modern interpretation of traditional design, accommodating up to 88 guests. Altogether, Jade River welcomes up to 130 diners—each with just enough space to slow down, stay a little longer, and enjoy the moment.
Designed with togetherness in mind, the dining experience unfolds at an easy pace, where sharing plates and conversation go hand in hand. The table service encourages a natural rhythm to the meal, making it ideal for lingering gatherings and unhurried enjoyment.

The centrepiece is the Roasted Crispy Peking Duck—a signature that demands to be shared. Available as a whole or half portion, the duck is carved tableside, creating a subtle moment worth pausing for. Crisp, golden skin and juicy meat are first presented on their own, before being wrapped in spring pancakes with fresh cucumber. The remaining meat is then cooked to your preference; opt for the Kung Pao style, where the duck is transformed into a glossy, caramelised dish with just the right balance of heat and richness.

While you’re working your way through the Peking duck, the starters more than hold their own. The Deep-Fried Deshelled Prawns with Almond Flakes and Salted Egg Yolk is unapologetically indulgent—rich, and deeply savoury, with fresh prawns that deliver a satisfying crunch with every bite.

For something even more addictive, the Deep-Fried Crispy Fish Skin with Salted Egg is a must-order. Light, shatteringly crisp, and generously coated in that golden salted-egg goodness, it’s the kind of snack that disappears faster than expected—and one you’ll find yourself ordering again before the table realises it’s gone.

No Chinese dining experience feels complete without a fish dish, and the Hong Kong–style Steamed Grouper here confidently steals the spotlight. Delicate, impeccably fresh, and steamed to tender perfection, the fish is served with silky tofu and crisp broccoli, letting the flavours stay clean and honest. It’s the sauce, though, that quietly hooks you—light yet deeply savoury, soaking into every bite.

For a carb fix that still feels indulgent, the Fried Cauliflower Rice with Deshelled Prawns and Scallops in XO Sauce is a smart pick. Fragrant and full of umami, it’s light enough to keep things balanced yet flavourful enough to anchor the meal, with seafood sweetness lifted by that punchy XO kick. Round things off with a side of Hong Kong Kailan—bright, crisp, and simply done—for a clean finish that ties the table together effortlessly.

End on a sweet note with the Mango Sago—a light, refreshing finale that hits all the right notes. Creamy yet fruit-forward, it delivers the bright, sunny flavour of ripe mango, punctuated with soft pearls that add a gentle chew. It’s the kind of dessert that feels indulgent without weighing you down.

For those easing into the weekend, Jade River also shines as a leisurely brunch spot with its all-you-can-eat dim sum offering. Available every Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday from 8.00am to 1.00pm, the package is designed for slow mornings and long conversations, with baskets of classic dim sum arriving fresh to the table. The spread goes beyond steamed favourites, featuring a selection of fried dim sum alongside comforting bowls of warm porridge and a live noodle station. Priced at IDR 208,000++ per person—and free for kids—it’s an easy, family-friendly excuse to linger, sip tea, and let the day unfold at its own pace.
