Celebrating 79 Years of Independence with Gastronomy of the Archipelago through the Inauguration of Dailah Jakarta

Ragam Rasam, an annual event held by Dailah to celebrate Indonesia’s Independence Day, comes to Jakarta for the first time, with a more special feel this year. The event was held in conjunction with the inauguration of Dailah’s newest branch in Jakarta, held from August 17 to 23, 2024. The event not only showcases the cultural diversity of the archipelago through culinary experiences, but also features photography exhibitions, fabric installations, and documentary videos that highlight the beauty of local culture, enhanced by Jakarta’s thematic decorations.

Dailah, which has always been committed to preserving and elevating the value of Indonesian culture, collaborates with the Yayasan Kultura, which focuses on preserving traditional culture. This collaboration presents various activations, such as photography exhibitions and documentary videos that highlight the beauty of local culture, as well as traditional fabric installations. In addition, Ragam Rasam also presents various interesting programs, such as the wearing of traditional clothing on the opening day, traditional dance performances, cultural talks with prominent figures, and contemporary art performances. Through this event, Dailah invites visitors to celebrate and appreciate the rich culture of the archipelago while enjoying culinary delights in a warm and authentic atmosphere.

Dailah’s Expansion to Jakarta
The successful Dailah restaurant in Bandung, known for its authentic taste of the archipelago, is opening its first outlet in Jakarta and is located at Jl. Brawijaya III No. 9, South Jakarta. The restaurant, open since July 1, 2024, hopes to serve the nostalgic culinary heritage of the archipelago, which can take diners on a journey of mouth- watering authentic delights. Jakarta, as the center of business and culture, offers a bigger doorway opportunity to introduce the Dailah concept to a wider and more diverse audience. Dailah Jakarta is expected to be a destination where the unique flavors of the archipelago can be appreciated, and the cultural values contained within are preserved and appreciated.

“From the beginning of Dailah’s presence in the city of Bandung to opening a branch in Jakarta, we have always been serious about exploring the richness of Indonesia through culinary and cultural heritage, not just as a calling as an Indonesian, but because of our interest in the legacy of our ancestors who were so rich, with various deep philosophies, each region has its own uniqueness. It’s all interesting to explore. By opening a branch in Jakarta, we hope to further expand our mission, and create connections.” said Dinez Montana, one of Dailah’s founders.

With their presence in Jakarta, Dailah hopes to spread the message of the importance of cultural heritage through food. Dailah believes that every dish is a reflection of cultural identity and heritage, be it the culture of a city, a community or a history. The opening of Dailah in Jakarta is an important step in Dailah’s journey to connect people with their cultural roots through food, which is not only rich in flavor, but also rich in stories of Indonesia’s diverse cultures.
