The summer holiday is the most delightful time of the year; long sunny days spent doing fun activities, with no worries in sight. This summer, Andaz Bali is rolling out a series of activities for both guests and the public, from Jazz & Movie Night, Korean shaved ice, Kevala workshop, and authentic Chinese food created by guest chefs at Wok Wok.
Jazz & Movie Night
Every Friday night from 2 June 2023 onwards, Village Square will be transformed into a “Layar Tancap” or community cinema venue with bean bags, a movie screen, and a mini bazaar. Playing family-friendly movies from different eras, Jazz & Movie Night is suitable for guests of all ages and interests.
The event starts at 5:00 PM with a performance by Astrid Sulaiman, a jazz pianist, singer, and vice chairwoman of the Ubud Jazz Festival. As they listen to music, guests can explore the artisanal products from the mini bazaar or enjoy the culinary delights from the four interconnected restaurants: Wok Wok (Indonesian comfort food), Firefox (meat fresh from the grill), Blue Oven (Mediterranean cuisine) and Deli & Bakery.
The movie will start at 8:00 PM, and guests can enjoy nibbles including Neapolitan-style pizza from the Blue Oven, small bites, and refreshing mocktails and cocktails. A special pizza movie night package is available for IDR 200,000++ per person and includes one choice of pizza and a draught beer.
Summer Bingsu
What is summer without shaved ice? Beat the heat with Korean-style shaved ice bingsu from Deli & Bakery. This popular dessert makes its return in three flavors: Tiramisu, Mango, and Pina Colada. Generously portioned, this treat is available from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at IDR 110,000++, and can also be ordered at the poolside.
Kevala Workshop
In collaboration with Kevala, join our two exciting activities for you to choose from and get your hands dirty in a good way. Priced at IDR 250,000 net/person, available every Sunday from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Village Square:
- Paint a piece – take home your creation from Paint a Piece after a three to five days firing process

Wok Around the World #1 by Chef Alan Shao
As the first part of our Wok Around the World series, Andaz Bali welcomes Chef Alan Shao from Grand Hyatt Manila to introduce authentic Chinese cuisine at Wok Wok from 3 to 9 August 2023. Hailing from Qingdao province, Chef Alan is the resident Chef de Cuisine of No 8 China House restaurant, a top-ranked restaurant in Manila.
Delight in his Cantonese and Sichuan specialties during lunch and dinner, and discover the authentic flavors of classic comfort foods such as crabmeat corn soup, stir-fried Angus beef, and wok-fried noodle “I look forward to this collaboration and to learning from the team at Andaz Bali as well as learning about new culture,” says Chef Alan.
Chef Alan believes in getting the basics right. Having trained under master Jack Aw Yong at Park Hyatt Beijing, he spent years honing the foundation of his artistic and technical skills. In 2019, Chef Alan and his team won the gold medal for ‘Best Asian Restaurant’ in Doha, despite being open for only a year.
