In 2016, a group of students from the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) initiated a project to revamp the village as part of their community service program. Supported by local authorities and paint company sponsorships, they gave the village a colorful makeover to improve the residents' living environment. Today, the bright rainbow-colored houses, murals, and creative decorations have turned Jodipan into a thriving tourist destination and a model for urban renewal.
