Makase Dining Ambience

Makase is truly a restaurant that welcomes its guests in an atmosphere that exudes warmth and sophistication. The architecture seamlessly melded modern elements with traditional Balinese touches, creating a space that felt both intimate and inviting. The vibrant color palette and tasteful decor added to the ambiance, setting the stage for an evening of culinary delights.

A Buffet-Style Culinary Extravaganza

Makase Buffet Lounge

Our Eid Al-Fitr Dinner preview journey began with a refreshing welcome drink, a selection of Balinese healthy 'loloh cemcem' drink, offering flavors ranging from turmeric to tamarind, accompanied by crispy rengginang crackers to awaken our senses and boost our iftar appetite.

As we made our way to the buffet spread, we were greeted by an array of culinary delights from across Southeast Asia, each dish meticulously crafted to perfection. Here are some of the sections you can find on Makase’s Eid Al-Fitr buffet dinner:

  • Taste of Japan Live Station

The live station offered a taste of Japan with an assortment of maki rolls, nigiri selections, and sashimi, all boasting freshness and authenticity. The California rolls, tuna nigiri, and assorted sashimi were a symphony of flavors, complemented perfectly by the accompaniments of shoyu, pickled ginger, wasabi, and ponzu sauce.

  • Fresh and Vibrant Salads

The salad bar presented a colorful array of fresh greens and vegetables, paired with five tantalizing dressings. The Gado Gado and Yum Woon Sen offered a perfect balance of textures and flavors, with the peanut sauce and nuoc cham dressing adding a delightful tanginess to the dishes.

  • Dimsum Delights

The dimsum trolley delighted our senses with an assortment of steamed dumplings, including hakau, chicken siu mai, and bak pau. The delicate flavors and tender textures were a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the chefs.

Elevated Indonesian Cuisine

The Indonesian offerings were a true highlight of the evening, with Executive Chef Heri Riskiawani expertly crafting traditional dishes such as Opor Ayam, Beef Rendang, Iga Bakar (grilled shortribs), Kentang Balado (potatoes with sweet-spicy sauce). Each dish showcased the rich and complex flavors of Indonesian cuisine, elevated by the use of quality ingredients and impeccable execution.

Irresistible Desserts

To conclude our culinary journey, we indulged in an array of decadent desserts crafted in the form of meticulous cakes; including klepon, kue lapis legit, pistachio macarons, lemon meringue tarts, and basbousa. Each bite was a symphony of flavors and textures, with the klepon cake, in particular, standing out for its authentic Indonesian taste and innovative presentation.

Our dinner at Makase Restaurant was truly a feast for the senses, offering a tantalizing glimpse into the rich Southeast Asian and Indonesian cuisine.
