The re-enactment of the emergency government’s restriction of public activity (PPKM Darurat) this time has affected some sectors in Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta, which had started to be visited by many tourists for these past months, has become a very quiet city for the last 2 weeks. Many tourist attractions, shopping centers, several main street corners were closed, so that Yogyakarta which is known as the city of art, culture, and tourism is back in such a slump. This is also felt by the entire hotel industry in Yogyakarta. The occupancy rate of dozens of hotels in Yogyakarta fell drastically, even some hotels reached the lowest point of 0%.
Therefore, dozens of hotels with hotel industry workers in Yogyakarta made a #FromJogjaWithLove campaign for #JogjaMembaik on July 16 – July 20 2021. This campaign was carried out by turning on a heart-shaped lamp which was joined by almost all hotels in Yogyakarta. These heart-shaped lights were lit all night until the morning for 5 days. This activity was initiated by the Himpunan Humas Hotel Yogyakarta (H3), Himpunan General Manager Hotel Yogyakarta, and fully supported by Perhimpunan Hotel & Restoran Yogyakarta (PHRI), which invited all tourism and hospitality people in Yogyakarta and Indonesia to remain enthusiastic in facing the pandemic storm and this PPKM.
