Yogyakarta — Cancer Awareness Month became a moment for Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta to bring families together through a community focused initiative. On Monday, 21 September 2026, the hotel collaborated with Yayasan Kanker Anak Indonesia (YKAI) Regional Central Java & Yogyakarta and the Family Support Officer (FSO) of RSUP Dr. Sardjito to hold a Parent Support Meeting and a culinary activity for children at Pendopo Agung Kedhaton Ambarrukmo.
Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta brought families together through a supportive meeting for parents and creative culinary activities for children.
The event created a warm and supportive space for parents receiving assistance through the FSO programme at RSUP Dr. Sardjito. At the same time, children were invited to take part in hands on activities with the Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta culinary team, including cake decorating and sandwich making.
For the parents, the Parent Support Meeting offered an opportunity to meet other families, share experiences, and build connections in a comfortable setting. Supported by YKAI and FSO RSUP Dr. Sardjito, the session focused on creating a space where families could find companionship and encouragement.
Meanwhile, the children's culinary session brought a more playful atmosphere to the gathering. Through cake decorating and sandwich making, the children could explore their creativity while enjoying a simple learning experience with the hotel team.
The initiative also forms part of Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta's journey towards its 15th anniversary. The milestone is represented through three main pillars: People, Guest & Community, highlighting the hotel's relationship with its people, guests, and the wider community in Yogyakarta.
“Reaching our 15th anniversary is not simply about celebrating a milestone. It is also about reflecting on how we can create meaningful contributions to the people and communities around us,” said I Gede Sujana, General Manager of Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta. He added that the collaboration with YKAI and FSO RSUP Dr. Sardjito was intended to provide a meaningful moment of support and togetherness for parents and children.
As part of the collaboration, Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta provided the venue and involved its culinary team in the children's activities. FSO RSUP Dr. Sardjito supported the parent focused session, while YKAI contributed to creating a dedicated space for families to connect and receive support.
The choice of Pendopo Agung Kedhaton Ambarrukmo also added a cultural element to the gathering. As one of the hotel's heritage spaces, the Pendopo brings together Javanese heritage, hospitality, and community. The setting complemented the event's focus on connection and togetherness while reflecting Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta's effort to preserve its cultural heritage.
