Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta has officially announced the appointment of Ratih Handayani as General Manager, effective 13 July 2026. With more than two decades of experience in luxury hospitality across Indonesia and Southeast Asia, her appointment also marks a meaningful return to her hometown of Yogyakarta.

Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta has appointed Ratih Handayani as its new General Manager, bringing more than 20 years of luxury hospitality experience across Indonesia and Southeast Asia and marking a meaningful return to her hometown of Yogyakarta.

Throughout her career, Ratih has held operational and executive leadership positions in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos, developing expertise in luxury resort operations, boutique hospitality, commercial performance, and guest experience development. Her international experience is expected to support the continued growth of Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta as a leading luxury wellbeing destination.

 

As a native of Yogyakarta, Ratih returns after years of leading luxury hospitality properties across the region. Her understanding of Javanese culture, heritage, and community values reflects the character that Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta seeks to offer through its guest experiences.

 

Before joining Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta, Ratih served as General Manager of Alila Manggis Bali, where she oversaw overall resort operations while strengthening commercial performance, operational excellence, and guest satisfaction. Her earlier experience with Banyan Group also highlights a longstanding connection with the organisation, making her return both familiar and purposeful.

 

Ratih is known for her interest in architecture, timeless design, cultural preservation, and people centred hospitality. She believes that true luxury is found in authenticity, emotional connection, and a strong sense of place, a perspective that aligns closely with Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta’s vision of inspiring holistic wellbeing through meaningful and culturally connected experiences.

In her new role, Ratih will lead the strategic and operational direction of Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta. The resort, recognised as a One MICHELIN Key property, continues to strengthen its position as one of Yogyakarta’s leading luxury wellbeing retreats, combining mindful living, cultural authenticity, and personalised hospitality experiences.

 

Commenting on her appointment, Ratih described the opportunity as a meaningful personal milestone. She said, “Returning to Yogyakarta is incredibly meaningful for me.
