Tentrem Cultural Week Showcases a Tapestry of Culture Through Taste and Art
-

Hotel Tentrem Yogyakarta is set to host the Tentrem Cultural Week from October 3-6, 2024, celebrating both culinary and cultural arts. Under the theme "The Magic of The People Culture," the event aims to immerse guests in the diverse cultural influences of Yogyakarta, a melting pot of various ethnicities and nations. The week will be divided into two main themes: cultural arts and culinary experiences.

The culinary festivities will kick off with a Buffet Takeover in collaboration with Bank Mandiri. During this event, the Kayumanis Coffee Shop will feature a variety of culinary MSMEs from Yogyakarta, offering regional Indonesian dishes infused with local flavors, highlighting the cultural blending present in the city. Additionally, the Eboni Bar & Lounge will host an "all you can drink" experience, where guests can savor a wide selection of locally produced alcoholic beverages.

Two exclusive collaborative dinners will also be part of the celebration. The first, a Michelin Star Dinner, will showcase "Indonesian-inspired French cuisine" and feature renowned Michelin-starred chef David Galliene from France. Chef Galliene will collaborate with Chef Camille from Mediteranean Restaurant Yogyakarta and Chef Philip Walasary from Hotel Tentrem Yogyakarta. The second event, Perjamuan Nusantara Rijstaffel Dinner, will highlight a diverse range of traditional Indonesian dishes, prepared by four acclaimed chefs: Chef Theo from Nusadrasa Jakarta, Chef Mili from Mils Kitchen Yogyakarta, Chef Ivan Mangundap from Hotel Tentrem Jakarta, and Chef Affifudin from Hotel Tentrem Yogyakarta.

Perjamuan Nusantara will also serve as a Charity Dinner, in partnership with Bank Mandiri, with all proceeds going towards the development of Hotel Tentrem Yogyakarta’s adopted school, SMK Berbudi in Giwangan, Yogyakarta. Additionally, a Culinary Workshop, in collaboration with Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA), will offer culinary education to vocational school teachers specializing in culinary studies.

The cultural aspect of the event will include a Fashion Show showcasing the Sido Muncul Gallery batik collection from Hotel Tentrem Yogyakarta, as well as an Art Showcase and Workshop open to both hotel guests and the general public. These activities will celebrate and promote traditional arts.

Christoporus Yulianto, General Manager of Hotel Tentrem Yogyakarta, expressed his hopes for Tentrem Cultural Week, stating that the event will not only celebrate art and culinary culture but also contribute to their advancement. He emphasized that the event aims to benefit not just the hotel but the broader tourism community and the future generations of art and culinary professionals in Yogyakarta.
