THE 1O1 Yogyakarta Tugu proudly collaborates with Museum Benteng Vredeburg, part of the Indonesian Heritage Agency, to present an extraordinary art exhibition titled Peaceful Harmony. As part of the annual Art & Music Festival by PHM HOTELS, the exhibition showcases the mesmerizing sketches of Museum Benteng Vredeburg by renowned artist Augustinus Madyana Putra. Held to commemorate Heroes' Day, this exhibition highlights THE 1O1 Yogyakarta Tugu's dedication to art, culture, history, and tourism in Yogyakarta. Open to the public free of charge, the event runs from November 15 to December 1, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., displayed in the hotel lobby and Kalasan Restaurant.
Situated in the iconic Sumbu Filosofi area, both THE 1O1 Yogyakarta Tugu and Museum Benteng Vredeburg are united by a shared commitment to preserving heritage and fostering peace. The theme Peaceful Harmony draws inspiration from the historical essence of the Museum Benteng Vredeburg—“Vredeburg” itself meaning ‘peace’ in Dutch. Through this exhibition, THE 1O1 Yogyakarta Tugu invites the public to reflect on the sacrifices of heroes who fought for peace, especially in Yogyakarta. As part of the Art & Music Festival themed Harmoni Bahari, the exhibition offers a meaningful visual experience that underscores unity and pride in history.
Beyond art, THE 1O1 Yogyakarta Tugu offers a delightful culinary experience with its Seafood Vaganza, an all-you-can-eat seafood dinner. Available every Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Kalasan Restaurant and Pool Terrace, this feast is open to both hotel guests and the public at IDR 168,000 nett per person. Guests can enjoy not only an exquisite array of seafood but also the soothing accompaniment of live music, creating an unforgettable evening. To add even more value, a special Buy 5 Get 1 Free promotion is available, making it perfect for groups to indulge in a night of flavor and warmth.
“This Peaceful Harmony exhibition provides an opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in art, history, and culinary experiences all in one place,” said Greta Indri, Marketing Communications Manager of THE 1O1 Yogyakarta Tugu. “Located in the historic Sumbu Filosofi area, THE 1O1 Yogyakarta Tugu stands as an inspiring destination offering a truly unique Yogyakarta experience.”
“The exhibition not only serves as a platform to introduce the history and collections of Museum Benteng Vredeburg but also as a space to share local culture with hotel visitors, tourists, and the community. We hope that through this exhibition, guests staying at THE 1O1 Yogyakarta Tugu can directly experience Yogyakarta’s rich cultural atmosphere while gaining insights into the city’s historical heritage. This collaboration is also part of our shared effort to raise awareness of the importance of preserving our cultural legacy while supporting sustainable cultural tourism,” added M. Rosyid Ridlo, Representative of the Indonesian Heritage Agency's Museum Benteng Vredeburg unit.
With art, history, and culinary offerings seamlessly intertwined, THE 1O1 Yogyakarta Tugu invites everyone to explore a destination that inspires and celebrates the vibrant culture of Yogyakarta.
