Collaborative Painting Exhibition from Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta and Siji Art Management Supports Local Artists

Art exhibitions are no longer only enjoyed in galleries or cultural events, Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta offers a unique experience by holding a fine art exhibition at its hotel. The exhibition, which was opened on Friday, January 31, 2025, was inaugurated by Ahelya Abustam, Head of the Yogyakarta High Prosecutor's Office, Mikke Susanto, an art observer, and Irwandi, Rector of ISI Yogyakarta.

Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta collaborates with Siji Art Management, a platform dedicated to artists. This exhibition is in line with Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta's commitment to providing space for local artists to reach a wider audience, both domestically and internationally.

Themed "Identity and Belonging," the exhibition features over 50 artworks from 11 Yogyakarta-based artists, including Bonny Setiawan, Choeruddin, Danang Prayitno, Febri Suprian Saputra, Iwan Suhaya, Kemal Suhaya, Putra Wali Acok, Rina Kuriyati, Slamet Suneo Santoso, Tofan Ali Siregar, and Yayat Surya. Each artwork displayed reflects an in-depth exploration of identity and membership, encouraging visitors to reflect on their relationship with their social environment.

"This exhibition is part of Rumah Budaya Hyatt, an initiative by Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta to become a place for Indonesian artistic expression, especially Yogyakarta, ensuring its sustainability and wider recognition. Amidst globalization and dynamic social changes, celebrating diversity in identity is becoming increasingly relevant and meaningful," said Wilis Prastowo, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta.

Through this exhibition, guests can better appreciate artworks across generations, each with its own unique character, which is part of the long and ever-evolving journey of Indonesian art. This exhibition is open to the public from February 1 to April 30, 2025, every day from 09.00 to 22.00 in the Lobby Area on the 1st and 2nd floors of Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta.
