More than 300 people gathered at Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali on the weekend to plant 1,000 trees around the resort grounds, at nearby temples and at Lepang Beach, as part of the resort’s first green initiative of the year.
Wyndham Jivva Bali teamed up with the island’s Klungkung Regency to support Bali’s Clean and Green Movement, a program that aims to conserve the island’s pristine waters, clean air and surroundings.
Wyndham Jivva Bali Resort Manager Indra Budiman said that the team wanted to start the year by giving back to the community where it operates.
“We were pleased to see a huge turnout on a Saturday morning from local residents, students and members of the local council. This was the resort’s most ambitious green initiative to date and our team looks forward to organising and participating in more sustainable activities to beautify our island,” he said.
Local government staff, army, students, residents and resort staff came together days before the event to prepare the soil for planting. Local seedlings planted include the ketapang
Wyndham Jivva Bali has been supporting the regency’s green programs since it opened in 2016. Most recently, the resort donated two pellet and shredder machines, each worth US$11,000, to the regency’s Tempat Olah Sampah Setempat program, which aims to convert waste into useful materials. The resort has also started creating organic fertiliser on its grounds through a simple, clean and sustainable method.
Wyndham Jivva Bali is one of the 59 properties across the region managed by Wyndham Destinations and its Asia Pacific subsidiaries. The resort is located on Lepang Beach and is the perfect base for exploring Klungkung and Ubud, the world-class surfing break of Keramas and the Bali Marine and Safari Park.
