For its annual World’s Best Awards survey, Travel+Leisure (T+L) finally released the complete list of the results and one of them is the list of Top Cities in the World. Of the 25 cities in the world that entered the list, Ubud became one of them and was ranked 9th with a score of 88.16. This score is obtained from a T+L survey to its readers that rated the cities on their sights and landmarks, culture, cuisine, friendliness, shopping, and overall value. The results reflect the readers’ experiences before the pandemic. This survey is also a hope that this year’s honorees will inspire your trips to come, whenever they may be.
The city of Ubud, in the uplands of Bali, Indonesia, is known as a center for traditional crafts and dance. The surrounding Ubud District’s rainforest and terraced rice paddies, dotted with Hindu temples and shrines, are among Bali’s most famous landscapes. Ancient holy sites include the intricately carved Goa Gajah (“Elephant Cave”) and Gunung Kawi, with its rock-cut shrines. Hence, there are plenty of things you can do or explore when visiting Ubud. Besides Ubud, Bali is also included in the T+L World’s Best Awards list for the Top 25 Islands in the World. Ranked 17th, Bali Island received a score of 88.14 as well as getting the WBA Hall of Fame honoree label.
