This September, Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya, Pakuwon Indah brings a Balinese atmosphere in visual and taste to the hotel. Four Points Pakuwon Indah collaborated with Teh Villa Gallery,  holding a solo art exhibition “Mapraba” by the Balinese artist, Nyoman Sujana or commonly called Bli Kenyem. While in the taste department, Djaman Doeloe Resto & Bar collaborated with one of the legendary and well-known culinary delights in Nusa Dua, Warung Babi Guling Pak Dobil.

Precisely on September 9, 2022, these two collaboration events officially opened. The launching event was held at Djaman Doeloe Resto & Bar and was attended by invitees and public guests. Ronald Sitolang as the founder and owner of Teh Villa Gallery, Bli Kenyem as an artist from the solo art exhibition “Mapraba”, and Alamsyah Jo as Complex General Manager of Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya, Pakuwon Indah and The Westin Surabaya were present to give their warm welcome.

“This is a form of collaboration between Teh Villa Gallery and Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya, Pakuwon Indah for the second time. Last time, we held an art exhibition of paintings here, by utilizing the public space around the hotel for education and art appreciation. And because the enthusiasm was good, we are ready to start this collaboration again,” said Ronald Sitolang in his speech. He explained that previously, Teh Villa Gallery also held a solo artist exhibition with Bli Kenyem. “Incidentally, the series of exhibition activities at the gallery and at Four Points Pakuwon are the same, both are an ongoing series. Yes, that was it, we wanted to display art for the education and to be appreciated in many fields because art is a cultural representation. It’s not only satisfying our eyes with the aesthetics of color but also guiding us on a journey to find the values of a meaningful life.”

Next, Bli Kenyem opened his speech by painting a brush on the canvas and giving a live painting performance in front of the guests. He made paintings that tell the theme of his solo exhibition, namely the atmosphere of the Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya building, Pakuwon Indah under the bright moonlight. “The moon is indeed an important object in life. The luminous moon has the power to lead the human mind into a contemplative mood. ‘Mapraba’ which is the title of this art exhibition, in Balinese has the meaning of shining bright.

Not only visual, but the collaboration from Bali also continues for culinary connoisseurs. There is an all-you-can-eat offer with a new concept, titled ‘Cita Rasa Dewata’ by Djaman Doeloe Resto & Bar with Warung Babi Guling Pak Dobil, Nusa Dua. “This time we bring flavors from the island of Bali. Because many people in Surabaya seem to have missed Bali, we try to add some touches to our food, and bring one of the experts in Babi Guling cuisine, Pak Dobil,” explained Lukman Santoso, Head Chef of Djaman Doeloe Resto & Bar.

“In addition to the tantalizing Babi Guling Pak Dobil, there are also creations from the Four Points Culinary Team for Balinese dishes, including Balinese Rice, Pelalah Chicken, Sate Lilit, Taluh Mepindang, and Jukut Urap. We also present other than that, there are still several Chinatown and Hainanese dishes, as well as grilled stations and other Indonesian culinary delights,” added Lukman.

“We invite the people of Surabaya who are around Four Points Pakuwon, such as those who are walking in Pakuwon Mall, or want to try the ‘Cita Rasa Dewata’ at Djaman Doeloe Resto & Bar, to come and see firsthand the works of Bli Kenyem. His paintings are already displayed in the pre-function level M3 area. Please come right away, because the access is free,” concluded Alamsyah Jo.
