The workshop offers not only techniques to maximize the use of smartphone cameras for street photography but also takes participants on a journey to explore the charm of European buildings in Kota Lama Surabaya.

Starting from Hotel Arcadia, the hotel PR professionals will be guided to De Javache Bank, a historic building constructed during the Dutch colonial era, featuring a blend of classical European and local architectural styles.

The journey continues to Plaza Internatio, known as Gedung Internatio. This building, one of the oldest in Surabaya, was established in the late 19th century and was formerly used as an international trade office. With its magnificent architecture and captivating ornamental details, the building offers stunning photographic angles.

Next, participants will visit Siropen, a legendary syrup factory founded in 1923. Siropen is an iconic culinary landmark in Surabaya, with the factory building retaining its original colonial-era design and antique machinery still in operation. This location provides the opportunity to capture unique moments from Surabaya's industrial history, as well as to enjoy the classic frambozen-flavored syrup, known for its red and sweet taste.

The journey continues to PTPN 1, a building that once served as the headquarters for a colonial-era plantation company. The building features elegant architecture with large columns and spacious interior rooms.

With a rich historical background and classic architectural beauty, this event is not only a photography workshop but also an in-depth experience to understand Surabaya's invaluable cultural heritage.

Suryanto P., chairman of the Indonesian Photojournalists Surabaya, provided practical guidance, tips, and tricks for optimizing smartphone cameras for the participants. With the captivating backdrop of Kota Lama Surabaya, the hotel PR professionals were encouraged to capture moments that combine the beauty of history and the dynamics of city life.

“This collaboration is expected to enhance photography skills as PR practitioners, and the H3 Jalan-Jalan program is the first for members to gain direct experience, which can later be used as information media about Surabaya’s destinations for hotel guests,” said Kus A., chairman of the Surabaya Hotel PR Association.

H3 Jalan-Jalan is a program created to promote Surabaya's tourism. Starting with introducing the trending Kota Lama Surabaya, this program will be held regularly to explore many other interesting tourist attractions in Surabaya.

“Today's event was exciting and educational. I have never been to Kota Lama Surabaya and gained a lot of useful information, both personally and for our knowledge as hotel PR professionals in Surabaya,” said Dida B., Marketing Communication Manager of Shangri-La Hotel Surabaya, concluding the event.
