One standout participant was 13-year-old Rizky Cahyani, or Tata, who has garnered attention for her artistic achievements and whose involvement in “Daur Rupa” highlighted the program’s role in nurturing talent among young people with disabilities. Tata recently won the Best Line Master award at the We Are The World Event in Jakarta, and her painting, ‘Infinity in Diversity,’ will be showcased in Paris this December.

William Sihombing, Public Relations of Midtown Hotel Surabaya, elaborated on the meaning behind the "Daur Rupa" program. He explained that the term "Daur" refers to recycling, as the hotel uses old, discarded linens that would otherwise become waste, transforming them into artistic batik creations. This effort aligns with Midtown Hotel's commitment to sustainability and reducing environmental impact.

Sihombing further noted that "Rupa" represents the artistic expression of the participants, particularly those with disabilities. "Although they may face physical challenges, their creativity is boundless. The batik they produce is not just handicraft but a reflection of their diverse abilities and an inclusive spirit," Sihombing stated. He highlighted that the program encourages guests to view batik as both an art form and a celebration of diversity.

Key figures such as Leo Arief Budiman, Mentor of Rumah Anak Prestasi and Founder of Disabilitas Berkarya, attended the event, alongside representatives from the Surabaya Social Services and Liponsos Keputih to further emphasize the community's support for people with disabilities. Through "Daur Rupa", Midtown Hotel Surabaya provided a platform for disabled artists to showcase their creativity, sending a powerful message about inclusivity and community involvement.
