Morazen Surabaya is reinforcing its commitment to the community through the MORA Impact Program, an initiative designed to support educational equality. In collaboration with the Genteng Subdistrict Government, the program held an event on October 24, 2024, at the Genteng Subdistrict Office Hall, aimed at providing educational support to individuals who have not completed formal education.
The MORA Impact Program Enhances Education in Genteng Subdistrict
The event, held at the Genteng Subdistrict Office Hall, was attended by key figures, including Muhammad Aries Hilmi, the Genteng Subdistrict Head; David Priambowo, Hotel Manager of Morazen Surabaya; and Lukas Hambali, Head of PKBM (Community Learning Activity Center). Alongside these officials, six students participating in the Krisna Program were present to receive essential educational tools such as a whiteboard, an LCD projector, folding chairs, and school supplies.
During the event, Muhammad Aries Hilmi emphasized the importance of educational equality, stating, “The Mayor of Surabaya and Morazen Surabaya have shown their dedication and commitment to educational equality in Surabaya. Education is the key to success, so everyone here must stay diligent and motivated in their studies.”
David Priambowo also highlighted the hotel's dedication to supporting education, stating, “We are focused on the community surrounding the hotel and will continue to support educational programs up to the college level. Morazen Surabaya will offer hospitality diploma scholarships to vocational school graduates in the Genteng Subdistrict who are unable to pursue higher education.”
The program aims to combat the stigma surrounding the Kejar Paket Program, which offers an equivalent curriculum to formal schooling. It provides flexible scheduling with classes in the late afternoon to evening, allowing participants to balance education with work or other responsibilities. One of the students, Nanda, shared her aspirations, saying, “My goal in joining this program is to make my parents proud and change my family's future. I hope that by continuing my education, I can secure a better job to support my family’s economy.”
Through the MORA Impact initiative, Morazen Surabaya aims to empower the community by enhancing access to education and fostering opportunities for a brighter future. The hotel remains committed to making a positive impact through various sustainable programs that promote the well-being of the surrounding society.
