Fine dining has long been considered a luxury, but at HARRIS Hotel Gubeng Surabaya, the experience is reimagined into something far more playful and immersive. Introducing TECHNODINE: The Magical Journey of Art Dining, a unique concept that blends gastronomy, entertainment, and technology into what the hotel calls “fun dining.” Instead of simply enjoying a set menu, guests are invited to take part in interactive missions, transforming them into chefs of the night while being guided through a spectacular evening of taste and creativity.

The setting is deliberately dramatic—darkened rooms lit only by video mapping projected onto the tables, creating a vibrant stage for every dish. Each course unfolds with its own soundtrack and visual theme, amplifying the sense of adventure and fun. This immersive atmosphere ensures that no two moments are the same, with every dish becoming part of a story and every challenge adding to the excitement.
“This is the first experience of its kind in Surabaya, focusing on interaction and collaboration between guests, chefs, and servers,” explained Stylianos Koureas, General Manager of HARRIS Hotel Gubeng Surabaya. “Each dish comes with its own mission and unique video mapping presentation, turning dining into an unforgettable performance.”
Guests are treated to five dishes and three drinks throughout the evening, each paired with a mission designed to spark creativity and engagement. The journey begins with The Chemistry Sensation, a welcome drink crafted from test tubes, inviting guests to play with flavors. The appetizer, called Funtastic Elements, challenges diners to unlock a mystery box before creating their own starter. From salad and soup to seafood and dessert, every dish requires active participation, culminating in the main course challenge, Something Arrange, where guests compete to duplicate the chef’s plating for a chance to win a special prize from Executive Chef Amin. Drinks like Kretek in the Glass and Lemon Pie Martini complement the courses, adding a refreshing twist to the evening.

“During the main course challenge, I want our guests to understand the art of plating,” said Chef Amin. “It’s not only about taste but also about presentation. By replicating my dish, they gain hands-on experience, and those who succeed will be rewarded for their effort and creativity.” This extraordinary dining journey is available at Seventeen Skyview Resto & Lounge on the 17th floor of HARRIS Hotel Gubeng Surabaya. The full experience is priced at IDR 1,399,000 net for two people and is available every second and fourth Friday and Saturday of the month. With music, technology, and gastronomy blending seamlessly, TECHNODINE offers more than dinner, it offers a magical night to remember.
