Every year on February 5, World Read Aloud Day is celebrated to promote the joy of reading and highlight its transformative power. This global event encourages people to recognize the importance of literacy and fosters a culture of reading within communities. In line with this spirit, Sheraton Surabaya Hotel & Towers has partnered with Read Me Aloud, a local community dedicated to nurturing reading habits and supporting educational growth, to host a special event aimed at personal development and self-appreciation.

Titled “Harmony in Self: Self-Love and Appreciation,” the event will take place on February 9, 2025, at Sheraton Surabaya. As February is widely known as a month of love, the hotel and its partner community chose to focus on the often-overlooked aspect of self-love. The event aims to encourage participants to appreciate and care for themselves, a crucial practice for building confidence, fostering emotional well-being, and supporting mental health.

The “Harmony in Self” event will guide attendees through a reflective journey using visual media therapy, specifically photography. Participants will explore their emotions, thoughts, memories, and beliefs through photographs, helping them to connect more deeply with themselves. This form of therapy is designed to foster self-awareness, improve communication skills, and offer a unique path to self-discovery. By focusing on positive life experiences captured in images, participants can enhance their self-esteem, reduce stress and anxiety, and express their true selves in a creative and meaningful way.
