To commemorate World Mental Health Day, Sheraton Surabaya and Four Points Surabaya Tunjungan Plaza teamed up with Happiness Workshop to offer an Emotional Painting experience for the public. The event, held on October 13, 2024, aimed to help participants explore their emotions and reduce stress through art.
Sheraton and Four Points Surabaya Inspire Creativity with Emotional Painting
Led by Certified Art Therapy Practitioner Maharani Devi, the workshop focused on using painting as a therapeutic tool. Devi emphasized that art therapy offers a fun and accessible way to improve mental well-being for people of all ages and skill levels. Participants were encouraged to freely express their emotions on canvas, prioritizing the process over artistic talent.
"Emotional Painting is a safe space for everyone to express themselves," Devi noted. "We hope this event helps people become more aware of their mental health and discover ways to enhance their quality of life."
Cindy Carolina, Director of Sales & Marketing at Sheraton and Four Points Surabaya, shared that this was the first time the event was held at the hotel, and it was met with great enthusiasm. "Many believe in the healing power of art. With Emotional Painting, we wanted to give the community a chance to explore their emotions and find inner peace," she explained.
The workshop, which took place at the Kalingga Room of Sheraton Surabaya, attracted 25 participants from various backgrounds and age groups. Lasting about three hours, the event received positive feedback from attendees, further highlighting the growing interest in art as a means of mental wellness.
