Sudamala Resorts Unveils a World of Natural Wonders in Labuan Bajo

Idyllic Indonesian beachfront retreat to start welcoming guests in early 2020, featuring 84 suites and villas and a wealth of modern amenities, including a PADI dive centre

Do you dream of discovering the next idyllic island paradise, where crystal clear seas lap against powder-soft sands and endless days can be spent exploring a pristine private wilderness, far from the mass tourism trail? Sudamala Resorts is making this dream a reality at its brand new upscale beachfront retreat in Labuan Bajo, on the tropical shores of Flores, Indonesia.

Sudamala Suites & Villas, Komodo is nestled directly on the white sands of Pede Beach, overlooking the glistening Flores Sea and the enchanting islands of Komodo National Park. This makes it the perfect place for guests to lie back and soak up the exotic ambience or uncover a wealth of wonders, above and beneath the waves.

Scheduled to open its doors in the first quarter of 2020, this new 84-key boutique retreat will embrace Sudamala Resorts’ trademark blend of authenticity, originality and bespoke hospitality. Guests have a choice of 68 suites and 16 villas, all of which come fully equipped with stylish rustic-chic interiors and contemporary amenities. The Garden Suites feature private balconies overlooking the lush landscape, while the Beachfront and Sea View Suites promise breathtaking views of the Labuan Bajo Strait, and the luxurious Private Pool Villas provide expansive courtyards, alfresco pavilions and inviting outdoor pools.

Sudamala Suites & Villas, Komodo exudes a deep sense of freedom, with endless opportunities for guests to do as much or as little as they choose. Pure relaxation can be enjoyed at the shimmering seafront swimming pool, with its own swim-up bar, or at Sudajiva Spa, which houses four double treatment rooms and a soothing spa pool. A well-equipped fitness centre is also available, or guests can simply slip off their shoes and stroll along the soft sandy beach, as the warm waves lap against their toes.

Adventurous visitors can head out into the Flores Sea and discover the vibrant underwater world. The resort’s PADI-certified Aqura Dive centre will offer options for experienced divers and beginners alike. These spectacular seas simply teem with life, including turtles, manta rays, sharks and an abundance of iridescent fish and colourful corals. Of course, no visit to Komodo would be complete without an encounter with the world’s largest living lizard, the Komodo dragon. The team at Sudamala Suites & Villas, Komodo can arrange offshore excursions into the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Komodo National Park – a real-life “Jurassic Park” where many natural wonders await.

Back at the resort, enticing Indonesian cuisine and international fare can be savoured at the all-day dining restaurant, cool cocktails can be sipped as the sun sets, and a beachfront barbecue fire pit provides the perfect setting for unforgettable evening meals. Finally, Sudamala Suites & Villas, Komodo creates a sensational stage for one-of-a-kind events and blessed beachfront weddings.

“We are excited to reveal Sudamala Suites & Villas, Komodo and to introduce a new era of authentic, artistic hospitality to Labuan Bajo. Komodo is famous throughout the world for its fearsome Komodo dragons. But this dazzling destination features many other attractions and activities to delight visitors, including unspoiled beaches, mesmerising marine life, traditional villages and more. Sudamala Resorts will allow guests to experience all of these stunning sights, surrounded by the luxurious comfort of an international-standard resort,” said Emily Subrata, Director of Sudamala Resorts.

While Sudamala Suites & Villas Komodo is blissfully remote, it is also easily accessible. Komodo Airport in Labuan Bajo is just ten minutes’ drive away and offers direct connections across Indonesia, including flights to and from Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali and Lombok.

Sudamala Suites & Villas, Komodo becomes the fifth addition to Bali-based Sudamala Resorts’ curated collection in Indonesia, following Sudamala Suites & Villas, Sanur, Bali; Sudamala Suites & Villas, Senggigi, Lombok; Sudamala Resort, Seraya, Flores; and Amed Lodge by Sudamala Resorts, Bali.
