On September 6, 2019 at the United Nations Conference Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Plataran Menjangan (L’Harmonie), West Bali National Park once again received international acclaim, this time being named a winner at the Global Human Settlement Awards in the “Planning and Design” category. This latest award can be added to various international and national awards that Plataran Menjangan has claimed to date, including its status as one of the World’s Top 100 Sustainable Destinations and the title of Best National Park, as named by the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry. This international recognition fulfills Plataran’s promise to make Indonesia proud, especially in the field of eco-sustainable development destinations and resorts.

Furthermore, as part of Plataran’s ongoing endeavors to achieve business with an emphasis on “nature, Indonesian culture, community empowerment and sustainable business development”, the group is currently in the process of revitalizing Jakarta’s Hutan Kota GBK (meaning Gelora Bung Karno Senayan City Forest). The appointment of Plataran as manager of the Hutan Kota GBK area was confirmed following a rigorous selection process, carried out by a specially formed committee comprising the State Attorney’s Office and the Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office. Plataran’s tender for the project was submitted in line with the group’s principles of “transparency, accountability and responsibility” in an application to the Bung Karno Complex Management Center (PPKGBK).

Hutan Kota covers an area of 4.5 hectares, of which 1.3 hectares are managed by PPKGBK and 3.2 hectares are managed by Plataran Indonesia under the name “Hutan Kota by Plataran”.

As part of the project, land surrounding Hutan Kota by Plataran will benefit from a tree planting program, designed to refresh the local area and allow it to function as the lungs of Jakarta. The initiative will also revitalize existing buildings and add a number of additional facilities, in order to develop Hutan Kota by Plataran into a premier restaurant and MICE venue. The site will feature a range of facilities, including Plataran Tiga Dari Dining, Pidari Coffee Lounge and Rooftop, Melati Glass House, Expression Wall Platform, Plataran Pets Playground, Majapahit Tribute Park, Plataran Putri Dewi Amphitheater and Open Performance Deck, along with prayer facilities, a jogging track and a half-cage basketball court.

The concept of Hutan Kota by Plataran was created by the Plataran Team, who have proven themselves to be adept in creating a variety of representative and enriched outdoor-indoor venues. This work has been followed up by various independent teams in their fields, including the legendary Hadiprana Design Consultancy, representing a cooperative of Indonesian citizens.

Using the tagline “Light of Nusantara” and integrating the basic concepts of nature, culture and the glory of Indonesia, Hutan Kota by Plataran will provide restaurant and MICE venue facilities in Jakarta with an indoor-outdoor concept, catering to the city’s residents, foreign and domestic tourists and for a wide range of private, family, official and state activities. Located in the center of Jakarta’s business district, the venue can be easily accessed using both private and public transportation (such as MRT and TransJakarta).

Combining its unique concept, identity, location and panoramic views of Jakarta’s skyscrapers with its growing reputation, Hutan Kota by Plataran can reasonably claim to be the Central Park of Jakarta, similar to iconic locations in other major cities, in particular the Central Park of New York.

Hutan Kota by Plataran is scheduled to conduct a soft opening in the third week of December 2019, proudly presenting the work of Indonesia’s children to the nation.
