Lombok has risen on the world map as an emerging hot travel destination the past couple of years and it has not been for the lack of excellent reasons. Lombok is situated in the lesser Sunda Island chain and is sandwiched between its more famous neighbors, Bali and Sumbawa.

Lombok deserves several accolades for being one of the very few islands in the world that have maintained the natural beauty of the place. Stunning pristine white beaches make Lombok the perfect getaway. Are you packing your bags? Because we are!

How to reach Lombok:
Good news for all types of travellers, Lombok has planet of decent options for reaching the exotic island. Depending of the weather conditions and the current, you can easily reach Lombok via an exciting fast boat ride under an hour and a half-or more- from Bali, Padang directly to the Lembar port in South Lombok. Those not too fond of boat-rides or simply sea-sick have the option of catching a quick 30-minute flight from Bali’s international airport to Lombok. The seas tend to turn wild from August to October, so we suggest boarding the flight if your sea-sickness will ruin the boat ride for you. The slow boat is another cheap and budget-friendly option for those short on cash and not time! It will take roughly about 4-5 hours to reach Lombok in comparatively better conditions.

When should you visit?
Just like Bali, Lombok too experiences two seasons: the dry season and the wet season. From October onwards till April, Lombok experiences the wet season that has a beautiful, lush green effect on the island. The beauty is astonishing but so is getting around! If you’re looking to save some bucks and avoid the overflow of crowds, this might be the season for you to visit! The dry season lasts from May through October, offering an entirely different character to the island. but for us, the perfect time to visit Lombok would be during the mid of the dry season when the air is not sticky with humidity and the island is still lush green and full of scenic beauty. If you’re not adverse to huge crowds, this might be the ideal time for you to explore Lombok in all its
glory!

The beauty of the local culture
Once you are done with exploring the natural beauty of the island, we recommend visiting the Banyumulek Village to experience a taste of Lombok’s local culture that is evident throughout this charming village. The village is the perfect place to witness the glory of the traditional pottery of the island that generations have been doing so and perfecting for years. The finished product is a beauty to behold. The Sasak people of Lombok have tirelessly preserved and perfected the art of traditional pottery making and these items are raved about in different corners of the world- as far as New Zealand and Europe even! Why not take this wonderful
souvenir and memoir home?

Local culture, variety of traditional mouth-watering cuisine, cheap land properties paired with unfathomable natural beauty make Lombok a must visit and invest spot!
