We’re excited that finally having a chance to experience a comfortable staycation at Mercure Jakarta Batavia. As we stay during the New Normal era, the hotel made us feel safe with its proper health protocols, starting from its entrance, dining area, to our room. Here are 6 things we find the most memorable from Mercure Jakarta Batavia.

As part of Accor Hotels, Mercure Jakarta Batavia is also implementing the “ALL SAFE” program to ensure guests a safe stay during their visit. The ALL SAFE program certification is a label by Accor, developed with, and vetted by Bureau Veritas. ALL SAFE certification represents the new elevated cleanliness protocols and safety standards focused on intensified hygiene and prevention measures in each area throughout the hotel.

The new protocols include mandatory temperature checks from the moment guest arrive, frequent disinfection in rooms and all areas, maintaining social distancing regulation in restaurants and public areas by limiting guest capacity levels for safe movement around the hotel. Moreover, the hotel also has contactless hand sanitizers in public areas, and complimentary masks are provided on request.

2. Its vintage vibes

Once we arrived, we were welcomed by the hotel’s vintage and elegant building. Dominated in white, Mercure Jakarta Batavia’s grand building is actually from a renovated old hotel. Designed to meet the classic theme and atmosphere of the Old Town, which is located the opposite of the hotel.

The lobby is complemented the vintage theme of the hotel, where we can find old phones and the classic style of Jakarta Kota Train Station complete with its vintage ticket counter. Staying at Mercure Jakarta Batavia, we can also explore the iconic old town where we can find historic places, take a walk to Fatahillah Museum, and Bank Indonesia Museum.

3. Modern-classic rooms

Mercure Jakarta Batavia offers 376 comfortable rooms and suites that are designed for modern business and leisure travelers. In our staycation, we had the chance to experience the spacious Privilege Room with 2 single beds. The room features 2 Single Beds, 42 inch LCD TV with international channels, Mercure welcome amenities, complimentary high-speed WiFi, a separate rain shower stall, coffee tea maker, and coffee table. You can expect a super creative towel art waiting for you inside the room. As for us, we were welcomed by 2 turtles and a man, yes a man. Speaking about the comfort of the room, Mercure Jakarta Batavia impressed us with its comfy bed, cleanliness, and pleasant hospitality.

4. Delectable dining

There are two dining places you can choose from while staying at the hotel. First is the all-day dining restaurant, Malaka. Serving international cuisine, you can expect a delectable menu of Asian, Nusantara, and Western cuisines. Malaka also comes with a buffet and a la carte menus, prepared in a showcase open kitchen. During our visit, we enjoyed its fulfilling breakfast, as well as the Oriental Brunch buffet specials.

The second one is the Lobby Lounge where you can relax while accompanied by its chic ambiance. Serving a wide variety of International and Nusantara cuisines, as well as coffees, teas, wines, cocktails, and mocktails to complement its delicious snacks and cakes. As for us, we tried the house’s signature burgers and carbonara pasta which all comes in abundant portion and delightful taste.

5. Adequate facilities

Mercure Jakarta Batavia equipped with very adequate facilities. Including our favorite one, the gym. Not only spacious, but the gym also offers various gym equipment closed to those gyms for professionals. There is also a large pool where you can swim while overlooking the city view.

During the New Normal and restriction period, some of the facilities are open. But, still with limitation and other strict health protocols to guarantee the safety of all the hotel’s guests.

6. Exceptional function rooms
