As part of the Hotel’s commitment to excellence, Jakarta Luxury Hotel, The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place is proud to host the first “The Disciple Escoffier Annual Soiree Blanche” in Indonesia that will be held on August 19, 2022 at PA.SO.LA Restaurant on Level 6. Five Escoffier Chefs will take part in this prestigious international event, they are Gilles Marx, Richard Gillet, Louis Tanuhadi, Vindex Tengker, and Andrea Peresthu. Some of the proceeds will be donated to ISCO Foundation to support the education and wellbeing of Indonesia’s vulnerable children.


In the late 19th century, Escoffier and Cesar Ritz launched together the Savoy, the Carlton and the Ritz hotels, the first modern luxury hotels in Europe, pioneering unprecedented standards of quality in service and elegant dining. Escoffier is then credited for elevating French Haute Cuisine to new heights, first in Britain, then around the world.

A few months after founding the Epicure Notebooks, Auguste Escoffier created the League of Gourmands with friends. This allowed Escoffier to realize one of his old dreams: a planetary dinner called Epicure’s Diner and at the same time to demonstrate the excellence of French cuisine all over the world.

Today, every year, after more than 100 years later, the Disciples Escoffier of each Region of France and of each Country of the world keep the tradition, by organizing an Epicure’s Dinner.

The Association keeps growing and has developed into 13 Delegations: Australia, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, New Caledonia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Tahiti-French Polynesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Each delegation in charge of the gastronomic actions led in its country in the respect for the Memory of Auguste Escoffier. 


On August 19, 2022, PA.SO.LA Restaurant on Level 6 of The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place will host the first Disciples Escoffier dining event in Indonesia. Guests will dress in all-white attire as part of the diner tradition and may interact directly with the five Escoffier Chefs who will present their best signature creations.

Aside from satisfying the gastronomes, the event is held to raise funds for charity. Some of the proceeds will be donated to ISCO Foundation to support the education and wellbeing of Indonesia’s vulnerable children.

One of the Escoffier Chefs that will participate and also the President of Disciples Escoffier Indonesia, Chef Gilles Marx expresses his excitement. “The Annual Soirée Blanche held in Paris every year on the 1st of July, is the largest Disciples Escoffier gathering of its kind, it is an exclusive event where like-minded people come together to celebrate Gastronomy, Friendship, Chefs and our Master Auguste Escoffier vision; Equality, Knowledge & Transmission, Culture and Modernity, Generosity and Unity,” says Chef Gilles. “I am proud to bring, for the first time, this event to Jakarta, to share with you all the spirit of the Disciples Escoffier, and celebrate good food, good wine, good company, with generosity to less fortunate people in mind”.

Guests are invited to experience Escoffier Annual Soiree Blanche on Friday, 19 August 2022, with a seating fee at IDR2,200,000++ per person.
