Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta is delighted to announce the opening of ‘The Bridge Art Gallery’ – presenting a magnificent collection of paintings from various artists around the world. In cooperation with World of Arts and curated by renowned art collector, Ms. Penny Wen, the gallery showcases artworks from artists across Europe, China, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
Among the featured artworks at the gallery are ‘Cocoon’ by the Dutch artist Irene Hoff, ‘New Wave’ by Gene Kreyd from Russia, ‘Lovely Day with Friends’ by the Vietnam-based Phan Thu Trang, and ‘The Hills’ by Indonesia’s own B. Rosar.

Irene Hoff, a Dutch artist whose art is hugely influenced by her experience living in the diverse of Southeast Asia reflected in the vivid colour of her strokes and her collage-pop-art-kind-of-style. Her artwork ‘Cocoon’ represents her belief that people are born with a magnificent internal guiding system and that they need to take time and space to withdraw from the busy world to restore their natural balance.

Born in St. Petersburg, Gene Kreyd finds his ultimate freedom and the axis of his life through surfing. His work is impacted by all the new waves as he travels the world to taste and capture the essence of reality.
