We list new restaurants in Jakarta that you need to check out this month! From Australian brunch cafe, Cuban style Cafe, to Japanese BBQ.
1. Devon Cafe
Another Australian style brunch spot has opened in town. Sydney-based Devon’s the one that decided to branch out to Indonesia with its first ever overseas outlet. Located in Senayan City’s semi-outdoor space, Crystal Lagoon, Devon serves some of their Sydney branch signature menus that incorporate a lot of Asian (read: Japanese) element to classic brunch fares, as well as some Indonesian comfort food like nasi goreng and bakmi. Must try: The Lost in Zen Garden, The Sakumas, the Black Devon Benedict, and of course, with a side of Flat White.
Senayan City Crystal Lagoon Area, Lower Ground
HAVANA Jakarta is a new ‘gastrolounge’ located in Street Gallery, Pondok Indah Mall, that brings on a luxurious yet low key Cuban vibe. Food served is a vibrant mix of Cuban and classic European cuisine along with wide array of whiskey selections from all corners of the world.

FEAST offers a fresh exploration of Indonesian cooking styles and ingredients. From basic appetizers like perkedel jagung (corn fritters), to ayam pop confit (chicken curry, not unlike sayur lodeh), to large portion meals to share like bebek betutu, served with sambal matah, lawar kelapa, nasi kecombrang, or their 48 hour beef ribs.

5. Waki Japanese BBQ
Who doesn’t love a good quality Japanese style BBQ? Premium cuts of meat sliced into bite sized and hear it sizzles and let it char to perfection directly on the table, to later be dipped in sweet and slightly tangy sauce. You can indulge on their more premium cuts of meat or, amazingly, get the basics that are as low as Rp. 69,000 for a personal yakiniku set.
