The French Institute in Indonesia (IFI) and the French Embassy in Indonesia in collaboration with the French Tourism Agency Atout France held a series of events at the Good France French gastronomy festival simultaneously on March 21st, 2019 in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Bali, and Manado.
The French Ambassador to Indonesia Jean-Charles Berthonnet said, “The Good France celebration on March 21 was momentum to appreciate French gastronomy which was recorded as a UNESCO world cultural heritage while appreciating the values contained in it, the spirit of sharing and togetherness and concern for the environment ”
In 2019, Provence will become a world gastronomic tourist destination. That’s why Provence cuisine is the theme of this year’s Gout de France. For the first time, the Department of Bouches-du-Rhône and Provence Tourism Office launched the Marseille Provence Gastronomie (MPG) 2019, the year of the gastronomic celebration in Provence held under the auspices of Chef Gérald Passédat. This is a year of celebration and gastronomic adventures in Provence, chef meetings, food markets, picnics and city gardens.
Starting this festival by discovering French delicacies through the 5-set course special menu prepared by Chef Gilles Marx and the team at Amuz Gourmet Restaurant. Special for Good de France 2019 Chef Gilles Marx has created a magnificent menu that is taken from the favorite a la carte menu to be an authentic menu. And this special menu also uses the best local ingredients.
First, Poached Lombok Langouste Bufala Mozzarella Terrine, Tomato Espuma & Langouste Rillettes. The prawn, as the main ingredient, is taken from Lombok (West Nusa Tenggara). Well known for its freshness, Lombok prawn is mixed well with other ingredients.
Second, Escargots a la Bourguignonne, Snails Baked in their Shell in Fresh Garlic-Herb Butter, on Toasted Walnut. You may get the soft and savory snail in your mouth. Third, the main course is Canard à l’Orange; slow roasted duck served with orange sauce, Candied Orange Skin, Butternut Mousseline & Brussel Sprouts. For the first time, Canard à l’Orange is served on dinner time. You may taste the tender duck with sweet yet fresh orange sauce.
Comes to dessert, Coconut on a Tropical Fruit Island Frozen Coconut Parfait in a Chocolate Shell, Mango Jelly & Tropical Fruit Salsa. Inspired by tropical islands in Indonesia, this dessert brings you the fresh tropical sensation.
