The mining sector is still one of the leading sectors for Indonesia in the context of developing the national economy. According to the Director General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ridwan Djamaluddin, the state revenue figure from mining products could increase many times to Rp 1,000 trillion per year if the downstream industry of all mining commodities is developed and all the products produced are finished products and have great added value.
This potential indicates the development of the mining industry which will still be rapid in the future, thus requiring the role of legal practitioners who understand the ins and outs of mining law, ranging from various rules that are crucial for the mining business, to technical contract formulation and dispute resolution in order to help support the development of the mining industry in Indonesia. . On this basis, ET-Asia held an Intensive Mining Law Course aimed at legal practitioners both working in law firms and in-house companies in the mining sector to be up to date with developments in mining law norms and practices as well as gain direct understanding of experts in the mining law sector.
