BritCham is back and kicked off the first grand physical event  ‘Awards and Recognitions Night, Leading on to the Triennial Bash’ at the Mandarin Oriental  Jakarta.

Despite the restrictions of global mobility faced over the last two years, BritCham still remains the most active foreign Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, remaining relevant through digital  platforms and now through physical events.

The ‘Awards and Recognitions Night’ commemorated BritCham’s members’ achievements  and successes. Some highlights are; representation at COP26, support of President Jokowi’s  business forum at the same event, the launch of the BritCham Education Centre and the  expansion of the Business Centre unit which now supports members of the ESG goals.

On May 1st, BritCham appointed its first Indonesian national as Chairman; Rino Donosepoetro  Vice Chairman, ASEAN & President Commissioner Indonesia for Standard Chartered Bank.

At the same event, in the education sector, the BritCham Scholarship is a fully-funded tuition  fee scholarship specifically for Indonesian nationals looking to pursue further study of MSc Chemical Engineering. This initiative is jointly funded by Altilium Group Ltd and Teesside  University.

BritCham continues to further promote trade and investments between the UK and Indonesia  through information sharing session, advocacy, Members Focus Groups (Smart Sustainable  Cities, Climate Change & the Environment and Human Capital & Education) and many more.  BritCham will recommence roadshows of the UK in September with a view to bringing British  and Indonesian business together at the margins of the B20, to be hosted in Bali.  For businesses or individuals interested to join the BritCham business network, please contact  salesmkt@britcham.or.id.
