5. Bambaiya

The second modern Indian restaurant that opened last month; this time by one of Jakarta’s popular Indian restaurant Queen’s Tandoor. Bambaiya focuses more on Indian street and comfort food. We love their attention to detail; from the colorful framed glass, a giant clock, traditional chai carrier and even the bicycle parked up front, were all flown from India! The food is modern version of the Indian classics and some staple Indian street food such as Pav Bhaji, and even kulfi on  a stick.

They aren’t really aiming to be authentic, incorporating local ingredients such as dried roa fish and shrimp paste to some of their ramens. A good option though, considering they’re quite affordable too. A bowl of ramen starts from Rp. 55,000.
