We’re so excited when a new 4-star hotel by Marc Hotel Indonesia opened in Pasar Baru, one of the most historic neighborhoods in Jakarta. First opened by the Dutch in 1820, Passer Baroe, how it was called, is a melting pot of many ethnicities that came to Jakarta to trade. It is now still a bustling market place that is home to countless shops of all sorts.
And what better way to explore the area than to stay in the newest hotel in the area? We stayed in the newly built Marc Hotel Passer Baroe, and here are 6 reasons why you should too!
1. Executive interior design with elegant touch at the lobby
Located near Jakarta’s business area, Marc Hotel Passer Baroe (GTPB) is indeed targeted business travelers to have an indulgent stay while visiting the city. So, no wonder if GTPB appears with an executive interior concept, especially in the lobby. GTPB’s lobby is located on the 6th floor which accentuates an elegant and professional atmosphere, equipped with only deluxe furniture. Guests can even have a casual or semi-formal meeting here with their clients.
2. Definitely, its location only steps away to some enthralling art and culture attractions
Not only for a business traveler, but the hotel is also perfect for leisure traveler as it only steps away to some of Jakarta’s tourist attractions. GTPB is located in the prominent shopping center area of Passer Baroe, Central Jakarta, with access to textile and fashion’s shopping center, restaurants, office buildings. Less than five minutes to the National Monument, Istiqlal Mosque, Cathedral Church Jakarta, and Jakarta Art Building.
3. Spacious and luxurious rooms
The room is the real thing here at GTPB as the hotel offers spacious, luxurious design and comfortable guest rooms and suites. There are 330 guest rooms and suites in its 35 floors and well-equipped with everything needed for a perfect stay.
From the comfortable sofa, office desk, mini bar, bathtub, deposit box, etc. Rooms on each floor even have a different theme, so surprise yourself every time you’re back staying in this hotel. Another plus is all rooms have no blocking view, so guests in every room are able to gaze over Jakarta city view.
4. An outdoor swimming pool with a charming panoramic view
Located on the 7th floor, the outdoor swimming pool is definitely a great escape from Jakarta’s hustle-bustle. Designed to look like a rooftop swimming pool, guest can enjoy a charming panoramic view, even a sunset here. The swimming pool area is also located beside the Wood 1820 restaurant and equipped with pool bar, stylish cabanas, and vintage-inspired wooden chairs. Perfect spot to refresh.
5. Stylish modern-minimalist restaurant surrounded by Jakarta’s vintage view
Wood 1820 is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurants, offering Asian, Western, and Indonesian authentic cuisines served on its Culinary Theater stations and buffet spread. A contemporary restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a lively and stylish atmosphere.
An extended buffet spread is offered, including pop-up stations serving breakfast favorites, like eggs, waffles, and pancake cooked to order. And as the hotel is also located in Jakarta’s vintage area, guest can enjoy their food accompanied by the view of old buildings and store.
6. Impressive fitness center equipped with high-quality tools
We were really impressed while entering the fitness center on the 8th floor. Though it is not a large or spacious fitness center, the place indeed has a complete high technology and high-quality fitness tools. It is even much alike to professional fitness place. We can also exercise while looking at Jakarta’s city view. Other than a fitness center, GTPB offers other wellness facilities as well, such as spa, sauna, aerobic classes, and even beauty salon located on the same floor as fitness center.
