From temple to coffee shop, who knew there’s a vintage Chinese coffee shop tucked away on the busiest street of Tanah Abang. Kapitan Lim offers a blend of Shanghai and Peranakan ambiance that will wow the guests upon entering. Paying tribute to old colonial days, Roast Coffee once was a paper storage warehouse in the Dutch colonial era turns into a coffee shop. It houses in Ketapang, Gajah Mada area where the neighborhood is really warm and welcoming with an outdoor yard for a sip of coffee and a good chat, especially for smokers and bikers. Back then, the house was established for living space and then was set for a dance studio in the ’50s and for healer practice in the early 2000s. Nestled in Roxy, West Jakarta area, Coffee Tea’se Me resembles a family residence coffee shop that caters to a wide space of the living room, dining room, family room, reading room, plus a backyard to soak up the sun. Guests can even bring their own furry friends. 6. Giyanti Coffee Roastery

Giyanti Coffee Roastery opened its door for the first time in 2012, tucked away on Surabaya Street, Menteng area. At first, it served as its purpose as a roaster to provide their roasted coffee beans to others, coffee shop acted as side support for the business. But now it grows rapidly and creates an enthusiasm at the ears of many coffee admirers Giyanti Coffee Roastery has expanded its space and establishing its identity with unique space. A splash of bold colors mixed with wooden and rustic furniture creates a homey and personal coffee experience that everyone asked for. Go for their Latte, Piccolo, Espresso, Black Coffee, and Cappuccino and accompany it with some Croffle, Nastar Cake, or various tantalizing croissants.

7. Coffee Dia

Hidden among the housing complex in Tanjung Duren area, there comes Coffee Dia for those who need a quick picnic fix. Think 90’s old-style brick villa with a capacious greenish grass back lawn surrounded by luscious bamboo trees. If the sun is too hot for you to handle, their indoor area is pretty comfy and cool for chilling out. Don’t bother to bring some props as they provide regular props for guests to borrow such as tablecloths, picnic baskets, plastic flowers, tiny vases, thick books, and others. But if you feel a bit extra and willing to bring your own props then go ahead. Besides their specialty signature coffee, please try their house specials Dirty Coconut, Yuzu Espresso, Matcha Rose Latte, and Slated Caramel Latte.
