"We chose Surabaya after Jakarta, because Surabaya is a city with a fairly rapid development of sneaker culture and streetwear. Moreover, the atmosphere of Surabaya will provide a unique and different shopping experience because of the Otaku Room concept." said Marcel Lukman, President Director of Atmos Indonesia. "We received many direct requests from Atmos fans who live in Surabaya. We listened to their requests, and now we are making them happen," continued Marcel.

atmos Tunjungan Plaza will be the first store located outside Jakarta, by implementing a new design direction with the “Otaku Room” of the newest store atmos Pondok Indah Mall 2. Inspired by Japanese culture and architectural elements, the new atmos store adds many unique natural elements from wood and stone. atmos will still feature many of the expected exclusive and rare sneakers, but will also bring a wider variety of products that are easily accessible to those new to streetwear culture.

Just like the “Otaku Room” concept, Tunjungan Plaza's atmosphere will provide an area that indulges people with appreciation and interest in Japanese culture. In addition, their experience will also be enhanced with special "Otaku Room" dishes such as Japanese Coffee and Matcha. “Otaku is a term the Japanese use to describe people who generally take an interest in popular culture and collect to an obsessive degree. A room with a 50 year old vintage sound system playing only vinyl records, and shelves decorated with unusual Japanese toys and collectibles, classic Manga, and more.”

Dwiky.KA creates special works of art that convey messages about everyday life situations, combined with extreme things through underground music culture, science fiction perspectives, & antique/old Indonesian comics specifically for the opening of the Atmos store in Surabaya. Dwiky.KA itself has frequently collaborated with several well-known brands such as Vans, Google, and Rolling Stones Magazine.

The opening of this store was also enlivened by performances from rapper from Yogyakarta, Mario Zwinkle, DJ John.P, and 23 pairs of shoes as a prize draw.
