At LUMA, cooking has always been about fire, flavour, and connection. Extending that philosophy beyond the dining room, BAR LUMA’s BBQ Terrace Series brings a more relaxed, open-air expression of the kitchen to the front terrace—where smoke drifts through the evening, drinks flow easily, and the focus stays firmly on good food shared with good company.
Hosted on the terrace of BAR LUMA, the BBQ Terrace Series is an ongoing collaboration program that invites chefs, restaurants, and like-minded culinary teams to cook over live fire alongside the LUMA kitchen. Each session is informal by design—stripped back, produce-led, and shaped by the personalities behind the grill.
Since its introduction, the series has quietly welcomed a strong lineup of collaborators. In August 2025, BAR LUMA hosted a terrace BBQ with Ray Adriansyah of Locavore NXT, followed later that month by a collaboration with Renatta Moeloek. The series continued through the year with Riung Rasa in November and Sangsaka in December—each bringing their own approach, flavours, and energy to the terrace.
True to LUMA’s ethos, there’s no fixed format. Menus are shaped around the grill, seasonal produce, and the natural flow of the evening. Guests are encouraged to drop in, share plates, stand by the fire, and stay longer than planned—mirroring the easygoing spirit that defines BAR LUMA itself.
The next chapter of the BBQ Terrace Series continues in January 2026, with an upcoming collaboration between BAR LUMA, Jono’s, and KULT on 24 January 2026. As with previous editions, the evening will centre on live-fire cooking, bold flavours, and a relaxed, social atmosphere—set against sunset drinks and vinyl selections on the terrace.
More than a headline event, the BBQ Terrace Series reflects how LUMA approaches hospitality: thoughtful but unforced, rooted in craft, and driven by community. It’s a place where chefs cook together, guests feel part of the moment, and the fire is always lit.
