Bicycle Lanes in Jakarta

The Regional Police Traffic Directorate together with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government added up a 14-kilometer temporary bicycle lane or pop-up bike lane along Jl. Jenderal Sudirman and Jl. MH Thamrin in both directions. Head of DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, explained that the lane is prepared for the transitional large-scale social limitation (PSBB) period by taking the motor vehicle lane. The bicycle and motor vehicle lanes will be separated using traffic cones.  To reduce the density of vehicles in the area, this pop-up bike lane can only be used by cyclists from 6 am-8 am and 4 pm-8 pm on Monday-Friday, 6 am-10 am and 4 pm-7 pm on Saturday-Sunday.
