TEDxBandung 2024: Kiwari is inspired by the viral question, “Why Bandung?” posed by Ardan Achsya on social media. The event responds to this thought-provoking inquiry by encouraging attendees to reflect on Bandung’s past and envision its future.
The theme Kiwari, meaning “the present,” focuses on three key elements: Earth, Eat, and Art, showcasing Bandung’s essence through On Stage Programs and Off Stage Programs.
On Stage Program
The main stage, X—THEATER, features three sessions led by expert hosts:
Earth: Environmental themes presented by SHAU Architects (Florian & Daliana), Yoyo Yogasmana (Kasepuhan Ciptagelar), and Sobat Healing (Bintang & Hana). The session closes with experimental Sundanese music by Tarawangsawelas.
Eat: Culinary explorations by Mauludynna (Joongla), Harry Nazarudin, and Rani Mayasari (Java Halu Coffee), highlighting Indonesian gastronomy, fermentation, and women’s role in agriculture. The session wraps up with storytelling by Ratimaya.
Art: Creative insights from Daud Nugraha (storytelling and puppetry), Eldwin Pradipta (art in community life), and Imaniar (Tab Space founder supporting artists with disabilities). Performances by Nani Topeng Losari and White Chorus conclude this session.
Off Stage Program
The interactive Discovery Session offers activities like pottery making, kokedama crafting, tea brewing, journaling for wellness, and aromatherapy workshops. Additionally, The Food Program showcases curated local cuisine led by culinary influencer Hendri Aditya, combining ideas with nourishing meals.
Closing and After Party
The event concludes with an After Party, fostering networking among attendees, speakers, and volunteers, accompanied by a playlist curated by Bottlesmoker.
A Reflection of Bandung’s Identity
