Ready to unleash your voice and ignite a movement? Welcome to the 9th Padjadjaran English Competition (PEC) – where young people are encouraged to embrace the power of determination and use their words to make an impact.

What is Padjadjaran English Competition (PEC)?

Padjadjaran English Competition (PEC) is an annual English competition held at Universitas Padjadjaran Jatinangor campus and organized by Gelanggang Mahasiswa Sastra Inggris (Gemasi) Universitas Padjadjaran. First held in 2015 with the name Gemasi’s English Competition (GEC), this competition changed its name to Padjadjaran English Competition (PEC) in 2021. Padjadjaran English Competition (PEC) provides an opportunity for students worldwide to enhance their potential and accomplish more.

Since it was first organized, Padjadjaran English Competition (PEC) has played an active role in establishing connections with various inspirational public figures from different backgrounds and contributing to creating a generation that is not afraid to express themselves. In this opportunity, Padjadjaran English Competition (PEC) hopes to bring together young minds to take part in different areas that test their creativity, critical thinking, and English proficiency.

Padjadjaran English Competition

In a world increasingly influenced by trends, we often feel compelled to go with the flow and participate in discourses on social, political, class, and gender issues only to receive certain societal validation. Referencing a line from W.B. Yeats’ The Second Coming, the 9th Padjadjaran English Competition (PEC) adopts the theme "The Best Lack All Conviction, While the Worst Are Full of Passionate Intensity", aiming to invite participants to express their beliefs honestly without fear. This opportunity allows them to go against the grain and show their integrity and humanistic values as students in this complex world.

The 9th Padjadjaran English Competition (PEC) offers a variety of competition categories in which all participants can compete, including Speech, Storytelling, and Short Story Writing for High School Level, as well as Speech, Essay Writing, Poetry Reading and Writing, and Short Story Writing for Varsity Level. With Heru Joni PutraAngelo R. (Sarge) LacuestaDhianita Kusuma PertiwiJoselito D. delos ReyesMark Spears, and other judges from all around the world, we would love to offer you the experience of engaging in discussions and showcasing your talents on an international stage.
