Herd immunity occurs when a large portion of a community becomes immune to a disease, making the spread of disease from person to person unlikely or at least got the mild symptoms once infected. In the hope of accelerating Covid-19 herd immunity, 2,500 hoteliers, tourism workers, cultural and creative economy people in Bandung got their 2nd dose of Covid-19 vaccine on 29-31 July 2021 at Crowne Plaza Bandung.
This program is a collaboration event between The Bandung’s Public Health Office and the Bandung’s Culture and Tourism Office. This event aims to create a healthy community and accelerate the recovery of world tourism by vaccinating against Covid-19.
The second dose of the Covid-19 vaccination took place at the Grand Ballroom, Crowne Plaza Bandung. The implementation of the second dose of Covid-19 vaccination went smoothly and followed the applicable health protocols, as well as regulating the number of participants to avoid crowds. During this pandemic, of course, various health protocols are implemented by Crowne Plaza Bandung to ensure the safety and health of all guests and employees, such as: cleaning the area with disinfectant regularly, reducing capacity to 30% of the initial capacity by implementing physical distancing, the obligation to wear double masks properly and correctly, checking temperature, and providing hand sanitizer in various areas and others.
General Manager of Crowne Plaza Bandung, Alvin Jaiyaseelan, said vaccination was one of the steps in accelerating vaccination as an effort to suppress the spread of Covid-19 by establishing herd immunity. “One of the ways to carry out this vaccination activity is to support the recovery of the economic sector. On behalf of Crowne Plaza Bandung, we strongly support the acceleration of vaccination, so that business can return to normal and we can restore the livelihoods of tourism actors. This vaccination plays a role in supporting the recovery of all industrial sectors in Indonesia and it is hoped that in the future the government will be able to reopen access to the city of Bandung for tourists. Moreover, the tourism industry is one of the most important industries in the country. Once again, I really appreciate and thank the initiative of the government and all parties who have supported today’s vaccination activities,” added Alvin Jaiyaseelan.
