For Bali, the pandemic has forced the whole island into reset mode with many businesses deciding to take a temporary halt, which includes COMO Shambhala Estate.

The past two years have been nothing short but a roller-coaster ride for everyone on the face of the planet Earth.

Recently, the well-known resort is back in business following a two-year break, ready to welcome those seeking to recharge and rejuvenate, and we were lucky to experience COMO Hotels and Resorts’ flagship wellness resort. With a quick inhale of the fresh air, the sound of nature, and a sip of the natural spring water provided all over the resort, you will get the sense of being in the right place for a healing journey.

Perfect for those looking for a mind-body reset with a strong focus on holistic well-being, the resort is located in the midst of the lush 9-hectare Payangan jungle. The wellness resort offers a broad range of programs to cater to guests’ whole wellness: health activities such as Pilates and yoga, massage therapy and bodywork treatments, as well as ancient healing therapies and modern techniques, all precisely calibrated to complement one’s wellness journey.

Upon check-in, you will be greeted by your own Personal Assistant, who will assist you to take advantage of the Estate’s entire range of services, including yoga classes, treatments, and dining reservations, as well as local excursions. The estate is home to “The Source”, a historic holy water spring just feet away from the Ayung River, and is a breathtaking location where nature and culture collide.

Participate in a traditional water blessing wearing traditional Balinese clothing at The Source, which will be accompanied by a local guide and priest. Unfortunately during the time of our visit, we weren’t able to participate in the water blessing ceremony, thus decided to enjoy the natural spring pools at Kedara Water Garden. The three natural spring pools each have different sizes and depths, with waters directly distributed from The Source.

At Ojas Wellness Center, all your needs for a relaxing massage, body care, beauty care, or facial care will be taken care of. We experienced a one-hour Deep Tissue Massage and the experienced therapist successfully escorted us to dreamland and relaxed our tensed muscles. Ojas Wellness Center is also where you can find the estate’s fitness center, hydrotherapy pool, 25-meter swimming pool, separate male and female sauna, and steam room. At the hydrotherapy pool, guests can improve their aerobic conditioning, flexibility, and strength. Hydrotherapy exercises are especially beneficial for people who have trouble exercising on land or who are recovering from an accident, joint condition, or surgery.
