As COVID-19 continues to find new hosts across Bali and the rest of the World– locals, expats, and visitors are remaining confident that with time, persistence, and the human heart, we will eventually take control of our island again. Here are some of the major pandemics that we have survived throughout history:

The Score

So far this Virus is winning, it has taken the lives of hundreds and thousands as it continues to destroy businesses, jobs, livelihoods, families, religious gatherings, economies, freedoms, and instilling fear in all of us. While some will agree that our planet needs a vacation, millions of others will disagree while trying to put food on their table.

Fight For Your Right

And while I am sure many people are grateful for the stimulus money they are receiving, it’s  just not enough. People in Bali are struggling to provide basic living needs like electricity, gas, water, and nutrition. But Bali is not giving up without a fight, communities, families, churches, temples and many individuals have resorted to either creating their own business from home or adjusting their existing business by utilizing the courageous Go-Jek.

Helping Others

Help a friend, neighbor, or local business by ordering one of their  delicious sweets, snacks, homemade meals, fresh vegetables and fruit from a local farm, or the catch of the day from a local fishing village. If it’s a service you’re after why not try out a homemade mask made out of linens, handmade disinfectants, soaps, a pick-up and delivery laundry service, and even barbers who are willing to give you a cut and shave right in the safety of your home

Say, “Thank you”

Be thankful to the people that risk their lives, make your life easier, or put a smile on your face.
