Even before Bali starts opening back its doors to international travelers, we have seen significant growth in the F&B business with many new tables opening here and there.
Not sure where to start? Worry not, we’ve rounded up the list with our favorites for you this month.
What happens when Bali’s Hospitality big names Tai Buddha of The Lawn, Times Beach Warung, and Single Fin, collaborate with Adam McCasey of Sisterfields, Bikini, and Bossman? Well, SKOOL happens. SKOOL is located in Canggu, on the second floor of The Lawn, and it’s an experience of modern dining with primitive cooking. Every dish touches fire, from the appetizer to the dessert.
SKOOL is a destination restaurant for guests who wish to immerse themselves in a cutting-edge culinary experience in an unrivaled setting. The cuisine is focused on fresh ingredients and is forward-thinking. Focusing on the fundamentals: produce, skill, and fire. Chef Vallian Gunawan serves an honest modern menu with a burning edge, with flames powered by natural wood and charcoal embers adorning each dish.
There is not a single dish on the menu that we didn’t enjoy, and it’s difficult for us to pick a favorite. Try their “Feed Me” menu made to be shared with a group of up to 6 people. The atmosphere is equally charming with the bar located outside the main dining area, where you can catch a glimpse of Bali’s famous sunset to the music of the 80s played from the house’s vinyl collection.
MARI Beach Club
The Island of Gods, ranked number one among world destinations, awaits you. Nature’s spectacular scenery, cultural riches, and culinary adventures. Meet MARI, a recently open fully-fledged beachside experience that defies the beach club mold, revealing the wisdom of real Indonesian traditional design and hospitality. The basics and interpretation of “Little Bali” are celebrated.
Ceremonies and festivals are colorful and rich in culture. Procession and religious rituals. One of the most unforgettable things to do is to immerse yourself in Balinese culture and traditions. It’s a vivid and alive living theatre. MARI has translated the harmonic feast for the senses into a hospitality ritual.

You simply can’t miss this new joint if you’re traveling past Jalan Batu Belig, because as the name says, the restaurant is quite big with a huge Michelin man-like statue and ample space for parking at the front. Huge itself serves European modern cuisine with an Asian influence by Chef Edik Kanaryan.
From breakfast to dinner, get ready to elevate your tastebuds. One of their favorite menu for breakfast is Syrniki, which is a combination of Ricotta cakes, condensed milk, raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries. The atmosphere is funky with artsy elements all around.

Chow Chow, a spin-off of Ling-Ling’s, has now arrived in Canggu. Executive Chef Putu Santika, in collaboration with the Lurline group, is bringing Japanese Southeast Asian cuisine and exotic cocktails to the streets of Canggu. Petitenget’s beloved Ling-and Ling’s the Lurline group has launched a sister restaurant, Chow Chow – Asian Contemporary Cuisine, Bar & Diner, with one of Bali’s most renowned chefs, Putu Santika, executive chef of the Lurline group. Think Tokyo Hanoi! The menu is a refined fusion of Japanese fine dining and Southeast Asian cuisine.
Putu describes the menu as a refined fusion of Japanese fine dining and Southeast Asian cuisine, similar to Tokyo Hanoi! Some Ling-favorites Ling’s have made the journey across the shortcut, including their famous Schnitzel Bao and Japanese Style Ribs, as well as some new tantalizing items like Kingfish Sashimi w/ Jalapeno, Black Cod Miso, Rendang Tagliatelle, and paired with their seasonal and imported produce readily available in the sushi bar, where you can even design your own sushi roll!
Nestled in a quiet alleyway in the heart of bustling Canggu, it’s a welcome change from the clutter and traffic of the main streets.
