Alila Seminyak with great pleasure and excitement introduces Christiane Ferger, the resort’s recently appointed General Manager. Christiane’s passion for excellence and caring for others has fueled a career in the luxury hospitality industry spanning more than 30 years to date. As the leader of the passionate hospitality artisans at Alila Seminyak, Christiane is ready “to support the team to continue adapting and growing in the midst of changes in trends and needs that come after these challenging times.”

Upon completing an internship program at a hotel in Germany, Christiane realized the many ways the hospitality industry had touched her heart – from the lively energy, diversity, and dynamic daily pace to how a simple gesture or an act of care could make someone’s day.

After commencing her career in 1989 with Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Christiane has spent the past 26 years as part of the Hyatt family. In 1996, she joined as an Assistant Banquet Manager at Hyatt Regency Cologne. Over the course of the next 24 years, she progressed in food and beverage, events, sales, rooms, and management roles at Hyatt Regency Cologne, Park Hyatt Saigon, and Grand Hyatt in Dubai and Tokyo. In 2020, she became Acting General Manager at Grand Hyatt Tokyo, where she and her team had the opportunity to be part of the Enthronement of the Japanese Emperor involving 13 heads of state and their delegations, as well as part of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, during which the team took care of the IOC hospitality venue.

In 2022, her journey led her to the Island of the Gods, Bali, where she now embraces a new role as the General Manager of Alila Seminyak. This role makes her the second female general manager among Hyatt hotels and resorts in Indonesia. Aligned with Alila’s and Hyatt’s values, her primary objectives are to lead and inspire the team to be creative, innovative, thoughtful future leaders and always be the best version of themselves. Christiane’s greatest sense of achievement comes from supporting colleagues in any way she and to grow and develop their careers, then seeing them become inspiring leaders.

In an effort to continue nurturing her passion, Christiane is taking a part in supporting the “Women@Hyatt” initiative, a program that aims to empower women colleagues and develop their career growth as leaders.

Personally, Christiane is known as a caring, passionate, and energetic person. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and loves to practice Pilates, which helps her to cope with stress and gives her time to breathe.

Together with Alila Seminyak family, we warmly welcome her to her new home in Bali.
