Le Meridien Jakarta is pleased to announce that Vikas Malik has been appointed as the hotel’s new General Manager. In his new position, Vikas will play a key role in the everyday operations and running of the hotel to continue providing the best of high-end personalized service for the guests.

Vikas, who has previously worked in JW Marriott Jakarta as Hotel Manager, has a wealth of hospitality operation and management experience with his career beginning in India 23 years ago. His first role began in 1996 as a Banqueting Steward at Hyatt Regency New Delhi. Three years later, Vikas joined Le Meridien Pune, India, as Assistant Banquet Manager, where he started to take on more leadership roles and dedication to excellent service. His natural talent and leadership skills were quickly noticed, which allowed Vikas to rise to Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at JW Marriott Mumbai. Vikas then worked as Director of Food & Beverage for multiple hotels including Courtyard by Marriott Chennai, Courtyard by Marriott Phuket and Sheraton Brigade Gateway Bangalore. In 2012, Vikas was appointed Regional Director of Food and Beverage of Starwood Hotels and Resorts for South Asia, where he held the position for five years.

Born and raised in India, Vikas has been passionate about this industry from a very early age. Vikas graduated from the Institute of Hotel Management, Lucknow affiliated with the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Pusa, New Delhi. On personal side, Vikas puts great importance in family time, such as playing online games with his 15 year old son. During his spare time, Vikas likes to read.
